He was far more than the 6 minutes major celebrity Kevin Hart has given him, although I’m glad someone is talking about him. He should have a statue at the Capitol in SC and DC.

I love this story of Robert Smalls so much, have read about it before but Kevin Hart just makes it better. I used to have a tiny but brave goat named "Smalls". He came with that name, named after a character in the movie, "The Sandlot", but since he was brave, handsome, and black, to me he was named for this "Smalls". My goat fought off a dog attack, saved his offspring and his ladies lives by leading the dog away although he was severely injured. After the vet stitched him back up, I gave him to a friend who lives in a safer place (I thought). Poor Smalls was killed a month ago by a mountain lion, along with his 3 other goat buddies but I bet he fought to the end like the brave little hero he was.

I hope Comedy Central releases a bunch more of these over the rest of February.

My son made a poster of Robert smalls for black history month. When I came in for teacher conferences it made me sad that most of the posters were athletes or celebrities instead of amazing people like smalls or McCoy or carver or Douglas, etc.
