The 2 ladies going out in the 2nd round literally lost on poor Ros knowing too much about tennis. But not knowing that this show has always differentiated between the open era of tennis. And the earlier times which were technically classed as it being an amatuer sport. Played for gravitas if you will. 1st name in my head was Mats Wilander. But judging by the scores, I'd have probably got under 20 for the greatest tennis player in my lifetime. John McEnroe.

Richard did say in the beginning here too: "since rankings began for men's and women's tour." Of course Ros might've missed this, or didn't know about when the official pro tour rankings started. To be exact, they didn't start the official rankings immediately when the Open Era started in 1968, but some years later in 1973 for men's tennis, and 1975 for women's. Cheers. E: To add, Court was actually still the best player in the world in 1973, but again, the WTA had not started doing official rankings yet. A bit unlucky for the contestant here.

It was clearly said ''Before rankings were used', Ms Court i think was around a long time before they were used.

I thought so too, especially if you are a fan of the Poirot stories. I believe all the real characters were from Poirot. And Hastings and Oliver were likely to be point scorers as they each appeared in multiple stories.

As a long time pointless watcher once again University Students show a basic lack of general knowledge, it seems to me that they just concetrate only on the topic that they study?
