Start earning just 5 minutes after making a new character - we're talking hundreds of thousands of runes per hour! The best part is that any player can come here without completing any bosses or spoilers! This video will lead to a portal from Limgrave (next to the 3rd Church of Marika) to Gurranq's Bestial Sanctum (Greyoll's Dragonbarrow, Caelid). From here, go inside the structure and unlock the site of grace - then you're free to explore and farm!
I recommend using a 2-handed weapon that your character has proficiency with for maximum spike damage, especially at lower levels. Once your backstab goes through, spam light attacks until the enemy dies. Sometimes they will jump or be knocked back. Make sure to close the gap before swinging again and watch out for getting outnumbered! Even if you die, rune recovery is fairly easy. Also faster folks probably get around +200k/hour including Kukri and other drops.

Deathroot Questline:
Go to Summonwater Village (due North of 3rd Church of Marika) by scaling the nearby cliffside. There you will find a "Mariner" who will start a low-level boss fight. Make the fight easier by fighting on horseback and ignoring the addition skeletons. The "Mariner" will deal friendly damage to them. Once the killed, he will drop a Deathroot which can be handed in at the Roundtable Hold to "D" who will point us towards the hidden portal to the Bestial Sanctum.
