Front Post Cluster Stitch | How to Crochet

I love the texture of the Front Post Clusters crochet stitch pattern: it creates a subtle, gentle wave across the top of the fabric. And it is wonderfully easy stitch to work. I would love to try this stitch in a crochet blanket. I have worked it in a solid colour below but it would be interesting to mix it up a little bit and add multiple colours to the pattern.

For this tutorial I will be using a little bit of Basic Stitch Anti-Piling yarn by Lion Brand and a 5 mm (H/8) Crochet Hook.

can you please provide advice on how to keep the rows straight? i seem to keep having trouble with keeping the stitches even and they keep making everything crooked. how can i keep things looking right for this stitch?
