Frontiers Music Srl is proud to announce the forthcoming release of Swedish hard rockers Crazy Lixx's new album, "Street Lethal" on November 5, 2021. The LP version of "Street Lethal" is a 180g, yellow vinyl in gatefold sleeve that is exclusive to the label's webstores. Limited to 300 copies worldwide.
"'Anthem for America' is a call to action for the youth of the US, who seem to have lost touch with rock music. It's a tongue in cheek reminder of how the US used to be the greatest rock n' roll nation in the world and it's up to the kids of today to 'Make America Rock Again'. Musically, we wanted to pay tribute to the sound, attitude, flair, & groove of the great hair metal anthems of the 80's/early 90's," says frontman Danny Rexon of the band's new single.
ANTHEM FOR AMERICA
What happened to the youth of the USA - Can you help me understand
You used to be the model of non-conformity - Now it’s all the same, oh
They’ve got you playin’ their game - But it don’t really matter
All for the money and fame - You gotta’ take it back
From the west coast waters to the New York streets - I hear it calling me
For the sons and daughters - Of the wild and free
Can you feel the beat - Rock is all you need
Somebody pulled the plug ‘round 1993 - And it’s never been the same
Trash corporate radio - Soap opera MTV - You can do much better
Don’t let them make up your mind - Like the millions of others
Stand up, don’t fall back in line - You gotta’ take it back
From the Texas border ‘cross the USA - I hear it calling me
All the sons and daughters - All you wild and free - Can you still believe

For all you guys that are commenting that we're not from the US, so why are we making a song/video like this: It's not an anthem FROM America, it's an anthem FOR America. They clearly can't make stuff like this themselves anymore, so someone has to do it for them, right? =) Check out the lyrics and I'm sure you'll understand where this is coming from.

They are able to separate the Political hacks from the common working American. Impressive, because here in the US we don't distinguish that, Osama Bin Laden=peasant farmers in Iraq, all go kaboom.

Hey Joel, there are a lot of us, but it’s tough to break through all the crap out there. Producer Michael Wagener (Ozzy, Skid Row, Dokken, White Lion) did our last album and we have a new one due end of 2022. We are the Apocalyptic Lovers and the album is Redemption Volume 1. Also check out SteelCity with Roy Cathy on vocals, Wild America and there are more you just gotta dig. Look into the indie labels like Kivel Records, PARIS Records and the likes - you should find more that you enjoy there. Cheers!

As a proud American who loves Crazy Lixx, the title of this song concerned me. But, I love the lyrics, I love the song, and you're 100% right. People fell in line in '93 and it hasn't been the same when it comes to rock 'n' roll rebellion. Rock is all you need!

@@PCBToxin 93 was basically the year we had nothing left, from our rock and roll hay-day. Our killer guitar driven melodic rock was dead. And it was all about grunge, and then whatever else came along after that. I can't be 100 % certain... but I think that is what they are marking with the year 1993. And everything else basically went to crap too - not just our music.
@IWRInteractive
@IWRInteractive 2 жыл бұрын
@@PCBToxin The song isn't about American politics though that has a splash back effect. It refers more to the fact that America is still where most pop culture comes from and 1993 was when the stuff being pushed went from rock and roll and comedy to either gangsta rap or grunge rock and super serious stuff. I don't mean that to say that serious movies didn't exist before '93 nor did comedies end in '93. It just became a push for more brooding, boring, and politically charged crap right around that year. Dangerous Minds, comes to mind. As a kid, when that movie came out, I was staggered that so many people liked it when the message of "you can't expect them to do better" is exactly the opposite of what people should think of urban culture. And grunge... Gee I can't figure out why rock is in the shape it is when on one video you have a "bitch" shaking her ass and partying, rap music, and on the "rock" video there's a dude in flannel looking at is feet bitching about his life.

I realized rock was not dead yet when I discovered Crazy Lixx, Hardcore Superstar, Slash w/Miles Kennedy (Conspirators), and Pretty Maids (Ronnie Atkins). And W.A.S.P. carried the flag of rock-n-roll too as well as several of George Lynch's bands.

Rock lives! Wake up young people! Im 57, played drums for 40 years! Was a teenager in the 80s! First concert, Van Halen 1979 Macon Coleseium Haloween night! Takas opened, Billy Shehan was the bass player for Talas, we felt like the sky was the limit in the 80s, noone could crush our dresms! We were raised by the kids of the hreatest generation! We fouhht when we had to too! But we dont recognize THEIR control! We own our freedom, they cant take it! Stand up and fight, dont get back inline! Don't be a pussy , as we used to say!

Traditional Hard rock/Heavy Metal certainly has a very healthy scene in Sweden where this band is from. But i hear you, it is certainly not abundant in most countries anymore:) List of bands that keep it true in the Swedish scene: Enforcer, Ghost, Hardcore Superstar, Ambush, Mustasch, Crucified Barbara, Graveyard, Backyard Babies, Air Raid, Horisont, Honeymoon Disease, Crashdiet, Sister Sin, Hypnos, Screamer, Night, Bullet, The Hellacopters, Ram, Lykantropi, Hällas, Quicksand Dream, Night Flight Orchestra .. Plenty of more quality bands than these listed but these ones are my favorites. Cheers!

In the words of Ron Swanson: "Damnit, I love this country so much." You guys brought back a little bit of the hellyeah American spirit that's been gone for so long. You guys should go on tour with Sabïre, they're almost my generation's version of W.A.S.P. and they have some killer tunes, it would be a huge nostalgia trip for sure.

Even in the 1950s, jazz started to take a back seat to pop and Rock n Roll in the states. Most jazz performers headed across the pond and found a more appreciative and listening audience in Europe. Personally, I have multiple 'listening irons' in the fire, Rockabilly and Roots American is one of them. In recent years I have been both impressed and embarrassed at how Europeans are both way more knowledgeable and passionate about those two intermingled genres than my own country, the country that gave birth to those things. Enter the very recent era/genre of 80's Metal and Hard Rock and you discover its the same scenario. At least for those of us who place LISTENING above what's current and trendy in our preferences we can sure be grateful to our friends across the Atlantic for carrying the torch and keeping these sounds fresh and alive. ROCK ON!
