How to Frontside Stall on Coping with Inline Skates. Also (for good measure) an example of how NOT to do the trick. Thank G-d I was wearing my helmet. Beginner Teaching Beginners.

Sometimes getting a fall out the way is the best thing, you get to know the worst possible outcome so you go at it more confidently instead of holding back cos of fear

That was a hard fall. I do this trick often. You taught me something new about not bringing my chest past the couping to land front side stalls more consistently

You know, I have to give some credit to the camera for motivating me. The way I just popped right up, kept skating, and even landed my trick afterwards despite my fear? Yeah, I was playing cool for the camera. I’m pretty sure that I would have called it a day if not for that, lol.

Bro! The fall... yikes. I recently learned to do this and I find looking over the shoulder (not under) to see where you are going helps to put your weight back. I also imagine that my blades are actually paint brushes and I'm the karate kid painting a fence. Up... down Daniel son! Seriously. Love the content so far bro. Stay safe and keep skating!

Oh my goodness... the thing you said about the line being coping and to keep your chest behind the coping really made this click in my head, I've been trying this for days and I have been popping out of the bowl each time. I am totally trying again tomorrow morning! Thanks for putting your process out there brother. Also, super glad you're okay that was a terrible fall.. if you had no helmet this video would have been on LiveLeak, not the tube

@Pawketz2 жыл бұрын
@@baertheblader9402 I did it! Thanks for remembering! I just posted a quick video of the first one I landed that day! Your chest behind the line tip helped me get over my overshooting the coping. My next hurdle became the fear of letting gravity take me backwards off the coping naturally. I intrinsically kept trying to jump off the ramp a bit as I went down but it caused me to fall forwards like the first attempt in my video. Once I got over the fear of rolling backward using gravity it was very success! The next goal is backside stalls!

I just finished the frontline stall and I m already capable of turning 180 back in the bowl. But yes, the fakie drop in is always tricky and scissoring the legs is mandatory, at least in the beginning.

100%. That is the most common head injury in roller blading. Falling backwards and whiplashing your head on the ground. I have been skating for a long time and recently got back into it. I don't touch transitions without a helmet, especially concrete ones :)

Seeing a fall like that makes me want to strap a thick pillow on my back to cushion my falls.
@baertheblader94029 ай бұрын
I did replace that helmet right after this with a really nice, thick one from S1. It admittedly shook me up pretty good. If I didn’t have the pressure of making the video, I don’t know if I would have gotten back up and landed the trick right after, but I am glad I did. I haven’t skated in over a year now due to knee issues and then the summer heat, but suddenly these video are getting comments again and I am thinking of getting out there again.

Yes, it can be. That’s why I never skate without my pads. My new helmet is also much better than the one I’m wearing in this video. I now use S1. It’s just way more padded.

@@zelt22 Hey, that’s ok. I know several skaters just like you who love doing the same trick over and over until it’s just right. Other skaters like to learn new tricks every session. Everyone has their own approach. Keep at it, and I am sure more tricks will come. I wouldn’t worry about it too much as long as you are out there having fun. Inline skating is a visual sport after all, so style can be just as important as technical skill. If you don’t mind me asking, which grind is it that you like to do?
