I worked as an engineer in a cereal factory, I literally could not believe the size of the contra rotating rollers that crush the corn. Ours weighed almost two tonnes and were almost four feet in diameter. Also the gap is extremely precisely modulated. Any deviation from optimum resulted in product flow issues.

So as someone seeing the machines, would you say cereal has metal shavings in it? Or would that be certain cereals only? Or completely false?

Yeah I thought they just grind them into paste and chop them up before cooking but this way is so simple. I had no idea how easy my corn flakes had it and no wonder they're so cheap and plentiful.

Don Cheeto obviously....just saying....cereal pictures are always misleading. I don’t eat these kinds of cereals now since I moved over to keto....but the granola-like cereals I do eat now are even more ridiculous, saying 1/3rd a cup is a serving 😂. Luckily it’s only a single gram of net carbs per serving...so I just pack on 3-4 “servings” to make a meal.

@@twdjt6245 studying dietitian here! Keto defff isn’t the best diet, (but I’m not here to lecture). Just be sure to get your cholesterol levels checked more often and your blood sugar as well. Glucagon stores may release too much stored sugar to try and overcompensate for the sugar not being consumed so it’s just a good idea to make sure your levels are normal. My mom actually had to stop keto bc it raised her sugar to prediabetic levels. (Most people don’t even think about it bc no/low sugar seems like a good thing in theory, but your body needs glucose) for cholesterol, higher meat consumption, which is generally considered part of keto, can raise that as well so it’s always good to be aware of your levels :)
