This was just a quick video I made to show some examples of the Northstar figures customized and painted up. Sorry for the rough quality. I have some technical difficulties to work out if I decide to do more videos.

This is an unbelievable paintjob, i've handled loads of the Frostgrave kits and these are the best painted models from that range i think i've seen.

Mate your sculpting skills are so good. That wolf head was fantastic. Your paint jobs are also fantastic. That non metallic metal on all of them is masterful. Really nice job thanks for sharing

Your work is amazing. I’ve painted most of my Descent 1st edition board game and its expansions,and have just found out about and ordered Frostgrave. I’m excited to try out the game and paint some minis! You work inspires me to pick up the paintbrush again. Cheers!

Beautiful work! I'm pretty new to Frostgrave and plastic minis, and this really opened my eyes to the kitbashing and sculpting possibilities. I picked up some of the Frostgrave boxes for my D&D campaign, and then just had to try Frostgrave itself. Loads of fun!

Cool to see what you can get out of the cheap Northstar Kits when you are a painting wizard! Good to know that they can look amazing, I guess I'll buy some instead of reusing models I already have to have dedicated warbands 👍

Wow, your paint jobs are amazing. The custom sculpting is awe-inspiring, looks as if it had been part of the miniature and has me thinking I try it as well. I like the idea of added armour, think I have some Stormcast laying around. So I could give it a try.

Thank you! I love Northstar's Frostgrave, Rangers of Shadowdeep, and Oathmark figures and think even the older kits provide a great foundation to build from. From my experience, several of them look great without any modification as well. Both wizards sets, knights, cultists, and barbarians are some of my favorites from the Frostgrave line.

Love the war band, looking fantastic. Did you remove the pudding bases from the North Star minis? Or did you build up around them with basing paint? I’d like to see a video on how you do your basis.

I feel you. Got a fair few minis painted up for (Star/Frost)Grave/RoSD/Any generic sci-fi or fantasy skirmish game. It's been a good distraction. Hopefully things will calm down soon. 👍

Thank you! I use Reaper's paints. All of these were painted with the following: Pure Black Pure White Clear Red Clear Yellow Clear Green Clear Blue Clear Purple Linen White Desert Stone Lantern Yellow Heraldic Red Blue Liner Brown Liner

Do you have any painting guides online besides the face? your minis look amazing. Or if you have someone else you would recommend that you got your style/influence from.

Thank you! I intend to make more, but it's sort of a slow process for me. Sorry about that. As for my inspiration, it's kind of tough to narrow down. I take inspiration from mini painters like Angel Giraldez, MarcoFrisoniNJM, Sorastro, and Dr. Faust amongst many others. I'm also really inspired by illustrators like Wayne Reynolds and Frank Frazetta.

@@smallendeavors83 Haha! No wonder I love your stuff, I have the same list of painters I stalk. I even have some signed Wayne Reynolds stuff framed on my desk for inspiration. Seeing his art turned into minis for Anastyr and retaining his style got me to sign up immediately for the kickstarter. I'd love to see your process a bit more in depth so I hope you get the inspiration and motivation to make some more videos!

@@orcd0rk Oh, man, I'm jealous! I love his style so much. I have several of the Reaper figures he designed directly for Reaper or were from the Pathfinder series, but the scale inconsistency of the sculpts drives me nuts. I would be all over some 3D printable STLs based on his art though. One can dream lol

@@smallendeavors83 I felt like those sculpts were also really limited due to production. The new undead he did for Anastyr is so viscerally Wayne you can see it's his art from across the room.

@@orcd0rk Anastyr's figures all look fantastically sculpted. Those are some incredible designs all around. I wish I had the space for another one of these big board games, but I've already got too many as it is X_x
