he didn’t mean to make Frosty. his hat flew off and landed on frosty. It was a magical hat so it brought frosty to life. The magician is mad and spends the entire film trying to get his hat back.

As a child I always loved the idea of frosty. Just the fact he was compelled to spread happiness to children and then die in front of them to teach them that life is fleeting. Such a warming tale.

OP actually accidentally reinvented the reason why "adder" (the snake) is spelt with an A, rather than "nadder" which I swear blind it used to be. A lot of these words that started with vowels and are preceded by "an" are actually words that used to start with "n" and we just plum FORGOT about it and started to slur the words so much that the *n freakin MOVED.*

The magician didn't have anything to explain in the animated movie. The kids stole his magic hat and used it to make Frosty themselves. The magician spent the rest of the movie trying to kill Frosty (with the help of his rabbit familiar) to retrieve his magic hat.
