As a kid growing up with Disneyland and rockets to the moon, singing along with the old player piano at my grandma’s house was always so much fun!!🤗

A friend of mine from Kent in the UK used to collect and restore these pianolas lost contact but I spent many an hour playing various models and being taught how to play correctly , great musical instrument worth a fortune now

Those pedals will really give you a workout! We have a 1930's Baldwin that looks very similar to the piano featured. Still works well and we have about 300 rolls for it. QRS made the best ones.

I think Gene Autry wrote it, not sure. Also, there was a company in Buffalo N. y. that made scrolls of new and old tunes.

That player must have been refurbished as I noticed it pumped easily, so it must be quite air tight , and in tune! If you asked 50 kids these days what a 'player piano' is...most wouldn't know. Congrats. on keeping this one alive!!

@@CountryLivingOnTheFarm It's pretty obvious, but maybe you don't get it, I understand not everyone is the same, allow me. It is a turn of the century tech in pianos that had them play themselves via a vacuum system and the rolled song notes with notches in them " I assume you saw that" Basically a "Player Piano" plays itself through tech at least 130 yr old +

frosty the snowman ⛄️ was and still is that jolly happy soul!!!!!! with that corn cob pipe and that button nose 👃 and those two eyes made out of coal!!!!! frosty that snowman ⛄️ is a fairytale they say!!! he was made of snow but those children know how he came to life one day!!!!!

Need a player piano bench. There's a hinged cam inside that tilts the surface towards the piano so you don't have to grab it when pedaling. That already may be such a bench. If not, you can easily convert it. Add a couple hinges (or a piano hinge) to a wood strip inside the away edge of the bench. It flips up so the top can rest on it to tilt surface towards piano.

Wikipedia tells me that it was first published on June 2, 1950. It also says that it was first recorded by Gene Autry ("The Singing Cowboy"), who had had a hit with "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" the year before. I was familiar with the UPA animated short of "Frosty the Snowman", also from 1950, but I didn't know that it was specific to the Chicago area, where I'm from. I thought everyone knew it.
