I think Isla had a wonderful time with her dad. Maybe a little relunctant and hesitant at first, but after she started participating more, she seemed to love ❤️ it! What an awesome father/ daughter experience that was for both of them. I think this will be memories that will last a lifetime! That's awesome. I love the way dad always put her needs first making sure she was safe and comfortable and she seemed much older and wiser than her ten years! Great video! Thank you! 💕

@@elvinaraposo523, he did this for his pleasure, not for hers. She is bored and not having a good time. When you are a girl daddy, you, the adult, thinks about what would be fun for your daughter. What would be a treat for her. Not what you want to do. Take her to the lake and woods when she can swim and have fun, not freeze and play on her phone. It is upsetting when I see a adult thinking about their wants, their idea of fun, it’s so selfish. We raised two darling girls. My husband would take one snowboarding, and the other one loved the beach. Each girl had a trip with just their dad, once a year. Their pick! They planned and looked forward to time alone with just Daddy, talk about special memories! They both are grown now and truly adore their dad.

I'm a 59 year old woman, and watching this reminds me of the camping and fishing trips I had with my dad. Later, when I turned 14, we even went deer and elk hunting. I was 5 years old when I caught and gutted my first fish. Now days, it seems, they won't even let 8 year olds handle scissors unless they are those rounded 'tip' kind. :P

You are an amazing dad. My father is deceased, he passed away from Covid the day before his birthday, in 2021. I'm still grieving. I would've loved to do things like this with him. He struggled with drugs most of my life, but he ended up getting help, and was clean for 12 years before he passed. So he didn't do recreational things with me. Although he lived in the house with me all of my life, he was there for me despite his drug use. And I'm very thankful for that! Even through the tough times he went through, I would NEVER trade him for no one! Your daughter is very blessed to have you as a father.. I hope she cherish these moments, bc a lot of ppl would do anything to have a loving father in their lives... R.I.P Dad🕊️

Dear Jay, first of all let me wish a happy New Year, to you, your lovely daughter and all of your loved ones! I was really happy watching this video, as your daughter is exactly the same age as my son, which I also want to bring closer to nature, especially since for the last 2 years we have been partially confined in the city due to the covid crisis. You were absolutely right in showing her that SAFETY always comes FIRST. And then I enjoyed so much watching you teaching her new things and skills and she will definitely find useful in her life, and pass on herself when the time is right. Laststly, let me say that the most amazing gift for a parent and his child, is their time together, because there is no amount of money in this world that could buy us even one extra moment with the people we love!

What IS she interested in? Is there any sort of middle ground or compromise you can make? You’d be surprised, sometimes when people get into nature..they realize they really wish they’d opened up to it sooner. Maybe there is some sort of middle ground where you two could dip your toes in. For instance, I really really really love science or space. So any outing which included that was something I was always consistently and considerably more stoked for than just a camping trip. Even one of those can be played right, if we went somewhere where light pollution was especially low, or during a time where we could get an extra clear view of some seriously cool astronomical event. Sometimes it doesn’t need to even be a direct thing. For instance, let’s say your daughter is super into equestrian things. You could take her to Assateague or Chincoteague Virginia, where they have wild horses that you can watch on the beaches and wildlife, and they do this big swim across every year where they heard the horses to swim across the bay for auction for some of the fowls. This, for a majority, included camping at some of the local camp grounds or on parts of the beach where you can camp. The camping would be a second hand thing. The wildlife part of it wouldn’t be the main goal, as it would to go see hundreds of horses professionally herded and swam across a bay and corralled. Anything like that where her interests are included too.

I have a lifetime of times that he spent with just me. Those memories are still with me, even though he's not. I ALWAYS told my father, "I will love you forever." And I do. Ah man this is so cool!! I'd of given anything to have a dad like you when I was young. What an awesome way to hang out and learn some great things. My mom did teach us so many amazing things after moving to the country when I was 11. NO phone, we had kerosene lamps , washed cloths by hand , heated our washing water on the wood cook stove, had an out house, lots of animals , big garden ,canning ,hunting, and we went from all the conveniences living in town ,microwave and dish washer included to no conveniences and absolutely loved it ! Lived that way for many Years till each of us got married . Young lady enjoy!!.

I dream of days like this with my son. Days where there is nothing to do but talk and be together in the beautiful outdoors where life is simple, and the only thing to worry about is needs.

Jay , as always your photography and cooking is superb. The baked macaroni casserole looked yummy. EVERYTHING is better with Cheese or Bacon... I smiled the entire time watching you and your daughter. this was the perfect trip to introduce her to your passion of winter camping. I'm so glad she enjoyed the trip and wants to do it again. Look forward to seeing you teaching her all the lessons you've learned. Stay safe ,, and warm . Ontario Canada .
