Thank you for this explanation. I’m 38 and after hearing this I think investment fits me more since I can pass it down to my kid.

Also, if you plan on switching jobs frequently, if your plan is, I'm gonna be a teacher for 2 to 5 years and then I'm gonna move to a different job or different company then the defined contribution plan the 401(k) is the right plan. Great video over all.

They said that you can change plans once but only once during your career. So how would it work if say I did the investment plan and contributed to the 401k, then much later on I rolled that into a IRA and use my switch to switch over to the pension? Trying to maximize my future Investments with playing with what's allowed in the system.

The one time switch is only from investment plan to pension plan and vice versa. Once you are retired you can roll your investment plan money anywhere you want
