FRUGAL LIVING video is here! The cost of living and the price of food has increased so much that many people use a food bank or food pantry to make ends meet. The food pantry is a great resource to obtain food and household supplies. There is no need to go hungry when there are great resources out there for everyone to use, if you qualify. I encourage you to apply to your local food pantry or food bank if you need help with groceries. It's also a great place to meet new people in the community. If you do not qualify for the food pantry or the food bank then please check out your local churches as that could be another option to get help.

Food Haul & Food Pantry Hauls Are Such A Blessing To Be Able To Have
There is no shame in going to a Food Pantry, a Food Bank or a local church for help with groceries. The cost of food and the cost of living is high. If you have low-income, lower income or no income then the food pantry may be a great option for you! Inflation prices are rapidly increasing, so more people are using their community resources and programs than ever before. Using your local community resources to help offset the cost of food can help you stretch your paycheck or retirement funds further. Keep in mind that sometimes the food has gone bad. There are times I have received items from the food pantry that were spoiled. Sometimes the food is very out of date and not suitable. Please check the best by dates! If you receive spoiled items, then I'm sure it was an accident. Food banks and food pantries move a lot of inventory and there are times when the food has turned. They have a lot of food that comes through and they're not perfect. Volunteers help rotate and shelf products at the food pantry. Just keep your eye out for best by dates to make sure you are getting the best quality items you can find!
Frugal Living - Food Haul
I live a Frugal Lifestyle. I shop sales and squirrel away supplies for winter. I am mindful to stock up on everyday items to save money in the long run so I can pay for daily living expenses like electricity. Every purchase I make is a financial investment in my future. It could be a bottle of water or a can of beans. Part of my frugal living lifestyle is using my local food pantry and shopping at thrift stores. Each organization has their own rules and if you qualify, you become a consumer to their program so please follow their rules to maintain a good relationship with your food pantry or food bank. I still have bills like everyone else and I budget according to my finances. Although I am considered financially poor or low-income, I do not feel poor. I eat well.

HOW TO GET FOOD BANK HELP?
Contact your local churches or you can ask the county. There is nothing wrong for wondering how to get food bank help. Each county has a social services department that can direct you to food pantry resources in your area.
WHAT FOOD DO YOU GET FROM A FOOD BANK?
All types! I get all types of food from the food bank from unknown brands to name brands. Each shopping trip is different. I also get a lot of seasonal vegetables to cook with. Some food pantries offer staple items like beans and lentils, other food banks may even offer organic food.
HOW DOES A FOOD PANTRY WORK?
Every Food Bank and Food Pantry has their own set of rules, so make sure to call and speak with staff that can guide you to apply. Some go by how much money you make (income guidelines).
FOOD PANTRY NEAR ME TO DROP OFF FOOD?
The best way to find a location near you is to contact your local churches, google search it or contact social services.
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR FOOD BANK?
They go by how much money you make in most cases.
FOOD PANTRY MEALS ARE SUCH A BLESSING!

I tell you Sarah, most of the time everything you get - you make look really appetizing! I’m surprised at how good your food pantry is! Most of the things you get are getting pretty expensive if one were to pay full price. I would not pay what they’re asking for a lot of things these days. I’m actually baking cake and snacks again when time allows to save some money toward meat, veggies and fruit. Great haul ❤

That's a good point! The cost of food is very high these days. I see more folks shopping at the food pantry than ever before. Good idea to do your own baking to put the savings towards your other food categories! Before I applied to the food pantry, I ate a lot of oatmeal and grits. The food pantry is a Blessing! I appreciate the service they provide to the community.

for the kale salad, if you have food grade disposable gloves, or you can use your hands if you want. If you massage the dressing into the kale salad with your hands and let it sit for about 30 mins before you are going to eat, it will be a bit less chewy. I love Kale salad and you are right it's so chewy. And I also hate all of the stems they leave in there. I don't know who is eating them ever.

Hey Sarah, you got some awesome finds this week for sure. I've only heard good things about The Ordinary brand. And I love that you got a whole bag of avocados. That is such a score. The cheese tray this week is extra fun for the Eclipse. And those flowers on that soft cheese make it too pretty to eat. Can't wait to see in the videos as it goes when you try the cheeses. Also, I have been loving the Mrs. Meyers Basil scent lately I have the all-purpose cleaner. I'm sure the soap smells just as good.

The Mrs Meyers is nice! The cheese tray was great especially the flower cheese.Did not care for the big block of cheese though. It was neat to have an eclipse cheese tray. I love avocados! So yummy.

I am a new subscriber, I love seeing jars reused. I love seeing your plastic bags reused. I don't often do that myself. I have a big range myself... but, I use a countertop oven instead. Big stoves are so expensive to opperate. Because of the countertop oven I have, I can cook 2 loaves of bread at a time in it. I use it for anything I would airfry in and ditched the airfryer. If you come across a countertop oven... you want to look for something good and tall enough on the inside to bake bread 2 inches above the bread pan. About 8 inches high inside. Not that you are making bread... this just gives you the versatility to cook something like a chicken or roast ect. Also make sure it is wide... like 10 inches to 11 inches wide min so you can easily fit in a pizza. The reason I say to watch out for them is, you never know when one will fall in your path. If you could get rid of 2 of your appliances to have 1 that functions better... don't turn it down if it is put in your path.

Welcome to the Channel! I enjoy countertop appliances, too! I might come across a countertop oven eventually. It's nice to have options to cook. I would like to get a traditional stove one day. To buy brand new sure is expensive. My kitchenette style kitchen works pretty well for me. I'm sure it will be different in the next few years! It's a great little kitchen so far.

We've had those fancy cheese rounds previously. My brother-in-law worked in a cheese factory. When products were labelled incorrectly, by accident, staff could take some for free. BIL gave us some fancy cheese rounds. What did I do with it? Melted it with a little water to make the cheese part for macaroni cheese. I also add vegetables to make it a meatless main.

Your Mac and Cheese sounds yummy! Maybe that's why the cheese trays pop up at the food pantry, it could be labeled wrong. I love getting the cheese trays because it's something I'd not buy for myself!

Using those containers to make a small greenhouse does work. You could also use them to start seeds. That was more food than usual. Great haul. I don’t think I could pass up the large cakes. I love the frosting on them. Cheese with the flowers was very pretty

I'm going to try making a little greenhouse, and see if it works out! Yes, it was a generous haul, so glad to get everything I got. The cakes are beautiful. I get desserts but try to get smaller portions so I don't eat too much of it! I enjoyed the cheese with the pretty flowers, had not seen that before, it was very colorful!

All of it looked delicious...Im over here drooling seeing all those pies and cakes, just stuffing popcorn in my mouth, yum tastes just like cake 😊...I did a "Sarah" thing this week, bought a new dish drainer, but didn't want to trash the old one...voila, I repurposed it as a flower container, put cardboard on the bottom and sides, it is now home to my violas and creeping jenny, looks do pretty, had an old tall candle in a jar that's little bit worse for wear, tucked it into a corner of the drainer aka pot, can't wait to light it for a while at night...wonderful haul, tyfs, have a blessed week...Thelma

Good evening Sarah, another great food pantry haul. I love the Hint water, I wish they sold the watermelon and peach flavor in my area. I enjoy solar lights, but with our pole light they don't come on unless the electric is out. Your guy friend does a great job at recording. Enjoy the rest of your week.

It was a great find! I had not heard of the ordinary before the food pantry. I got a cleanser there once that worked really well. I think the serum must have been opened and probably landed at the food pantry for that reason!

Like the way you creatively arrange your meals. Do you have an oven for your pork roast ? Wasnt sure if I've seen you cook with one. When i was first married we lived in an older mobile home didnt have an oven but had a microwave/convection oven that worked great .

Thank you! No, I don't have a traditional oven yet. I have been looking at stoves and also considering a countertop oven. Maybe I'll "upgrade" eventually. Until then, my little kitchenette is pretty good! I've seen the combo microwave convection oven, those look very interesting!

It would take considerable amount of will power to be able to pass the sweets. I never use skin products. However at times I do use small amount of cosmetics to keep from looking like a ghost.👻 I'm so pale. I love Poppy Seeds!! Did you say the salad was kale? I need more greens. I love them. There are many beautiful sweets, I do get them, but not too many! Yes, that was a kale salad kit. I feel better when I eat salads, especially the dark leafy greens! The cheese was wonderful. Glad to have the solar lights!

I try to grab the salad kits with the least lettuce in them; I go for things like kale, cabbage etc cuz they stay crispy and fresher longer. Im hooked on half a mediterranean salad greens, (I dont use any of the croutons or dressing) dried cranberries, pepitos, salt and "pepper, pepper,pepper" lol and ranch dressing. I could eat that every single day for lunch! lol Im sad cuz I only have 1 bag left (2 lunches) and I cant go back to the food pantry for 2 weeks yet.

Gotta have that Pepper! Iove the dark leafy green salad kits, too, they do keep well in the fridge. Eating salad makes me feel good, so it's wonderful to be able to get them. I like dried fruit, nuts and seeds with my salads also!

Hi Sarah! Those cake slabs you showed at the beginning looks really good. Unfortunately, as I was drooling over them all I think my glucose levels were skyrocketing! 😅😅 😋 😋 😋 The wings looked really good and hot! Oh! Thank you for showing the frozen strawberry cup! So they are frozen berries. Then you can use them in smoothies, on top of pound cake, or cheesecake too then? I forgot to ask: are they sweetened or unsweetened or naturally sweet Strawberries? Look at all your food! That looks like uou received a lot this week. I like how you always say "I'm eating good all thanks to my food pantry!". You do receive some very nice things. Enjoy it all. Thank you so much! The strawberry cups are frozen and do have sugar added. Yes, those sheet cakes are beautiful and I enjoy showing them, but I cannot be trusted with one of those. It might disappear in the middle of the night! I'm happy to get all that I was able to and enjoy making meals from it. Yes, the wings are hot but still tasty!

Great question! I treat the dairy from the food pantry same as I would if I bought it at the grocery store. If it tastes or smells "off" at any time, out it goes! I estimate the yogurt drink is good within 5 days of opening it.

Hi from Belgium, big food pantry, do you have to be on a list with little income to come in, how much do you have to pay? I think it's different here

Thank you for watching from Belgium! Great question. In my area, the food pantry has an application process to qualify the client. They determine the income guidelines. Once approved, you can shop every week, and there's no payment. In the USA, there are fee-based grocery stores called "co-ops" where you pay a fee to then be able to shop. There are also big box stores like CostCo where you pay a membership fee. Thank you for asking this question!

@@CareFreeLivingChannel thank you we have only one foodbank, and it's for the minimum income persons, when you're alone it's different as for a family, like milk or other products you can have 1 l / month families can receive 12 l

Every food bank in USA seems to have their own rules. I’ve heard some do not have income guidelines, but mine does and so glad I qualify!

do you know what to do with coconut liquid with vanilla no sweetener that comes in like a pint size ice cream container. It tastes like nothing says it has probiotics. I just froze it because their are no directions on it and i have no idea what it is

Interesting Question! Is it coconut oil? Or coconut pulp? If it is coconut cream, I’d add it to my coffee. If it’s oil, I’d fry eggs in it. If it’s the pulp, then blend with fruit like strawberries to make your own ice cream. I use a Stevia product to sweeten things up. I hope that helps!
