This music producer tutorial channel was created to focus on modern techniques to produce music inside of FL Studio. Many of these FL Studio tutorials can still be applied to any DAW by using the same concepts I explain with each producer tutorial.
Currently I teach future producers who aspire to improve their music production by showing both basic and rare techniques using FL Studio 20 (now FL Studio 20.1). I cover topics that range from non-traditional music theory to sound design to mixing and mastering. Each beat tutorial includes tips and tricks for FL Studio and general music production ideas that can help producers generate more musical ideas for your drums, 808/bass, chords and melodies in multiple genres, including trap, pop, edm and others by using the stock plugins they already have in FL Studio or using free or cheap plugins, available to download or buy online.

Great video! Yes, most people think that Fruity Limiter is effect or sound design tool. But instead it is meant to be transparent limiter. That's why it is at the end of the Master chain.

You are so right sir on my first time making beats l didn't recon the limiter on the master channel so every sound l throw in the beat wz being limited making it worse 😅

Another awesome video Ian! Personally, I’ve gotten used to Maximus and like mastering with it, but it I loved what you pointed out here about SC adding upper harmonics in. Great tutorial. Hit me up if you ever want to work!

Honestly Maximus is the best mastering plugin in FL for sure. I'm going to drop a tutorial on that in a week or two. But I really wanted to show people how easy and clean fruity limiter is because it's what I use when I'm just trying to do a quick master that's still high quality. But I can definitely do things with Maximus that I can't do with FL Limiter that really makes a noticeable difference.

so basically leave my master channel blank, make my beat, mix/ level it, then throw on the fruity limiter for transparency and loudness? and if im using the soft clipper, add it right away on the master, make my beat, mix and level it?

Just used fruity limiter on my masters and what I did was level all my sounds first then raise the gain on fruity limiter and level the ceiling. I turned down the attack, release, and the sustain. Everything sounds great. I'ma try to use Maximus and see if I can find some quality in that. Thanks for the vid

did you start off with the master blank? then make the beat , level it and then fruity limiter for the finale?

Key Flee yeah, sometimes you’ll want to drive the signal harder into the clipper or less.

Good, so now you know FL Limiter isn't the problem when people say it sounds like trash. It's not a big deal if you can't hear the difference in this video because I tried to match the settings the best I can. The difference becomes more apparent when you push the levels. Some people will prefer the soft clipper, others, FL limiter. The difference is the level of saturation. FL Limiter will be more transparent (up to a certain point). Just use your ears and let that be your deciding factor. Like I said in the video, if you can't notice a difference or don't have a preference between the two, just go with soft clipper and you'll be fine.

lajiao right, which was the main point of the video...use whatever works for you. Neither is really better than the other if you use them the right way. People usually run into issues with fl limiter. This video is to help avoid that and have results that are equally as good, if not “better” than other solutions like soft clipper.
