Bournemouth are a very good team. We can talk about VAR if you like, but as an Arsenal fan with a soft spot for Bournemouth due in part to this channel, you have a special team under Iraola. Solanke is some player btw to build around. Regardless of the decisions, I think it was a fair result, but it showed Bournemouth can hurt us more than I've seen many teams do this season. I hope you can finish strong and, if possible, fight for a Conference League spot. You have that look about you of a team that can really take a step next season. I'm not talking about your impressive points tally since November, but the way you play is distinct with a suffocating press and players that are 100% bought in. If you have the manager and the structure is in place, all you need is buy in from the players and that's been evident when I've watched you this season. This game was the one I was most vary of and it's a relief to get past you with all 3 points.

Lads - Arsenal fan here, came all the way from Norway to watch this game at Emirates. Tbh I never noticed the Saka foul. Agree on the Havertz thing - he always does it as almost anyone else - modern football, var. Your goal, not sure, havent watched it closely. But the most important thing is the job you're doing. Football is better with people like you around. Thank you and good luck. Keep it up!

The first half should have been at least a few down, the penalty probably wasn't but not a clear mistake. But it was a clear mistake Christie didn't get a red, very high caused bleeding and very dangerous. So in the first half we were extremely lucky, to not be at least down to 10 men. Second half more even though they took 2 chances we should have had 1. The important thing is we tried and put in lots of effort so well done to the boys

If VAR officials can't identify that Havertz conned the ref for the penalty then you have to ask what is the point of their existence? Any supporter of any club should be concerned by that decision today.

Keith Hackett, former head of referees who was interviewed by the Telegraph, stated that Havertz should have been booked for simulation, and the penalty should have been overruled by VAR, and Bournemouth's goal should have stood or a penalty should have been awarded for the foul on Billing. As Tom said, the Gooners are going to win f-all, so I guess let them have their little celebration for beating unfairly, little old Bournemouth at home.

Proud of the performance today. Pleased for Dango who was excellent against one of the best players in the world. I hope Arsenal win the league. City held on for their lives when we last played them where Arsenal were quite comfortable, with a bit of help from the ref.

Great reaction from tom 😃 arsenal were a class above us first half but second we matched them , i think with 2 or 4 additions to the squad next season we could compete with the top 6 clubs. travers i thought was excellent but i still think we need a new keeper .

Every supporter of “lesser teams” knows that playing a top 6 side and getting a fair run of the green with decisions etc is practically an impossibility. Personally I wish the top 6 WOULD go off and do their Superleague so that they can play each other every week. That would leave the rest of us with competitive football and hopefully a level playing field regarding the farce of VAR and refereeing.

@@DC94359 Hi Dylan. Firstly I’m not a Bournemouth fan, although I think they’ve done incredibly well to even be able to play in the same league as some of the financial might that they’re up against. Secondly, I wasn’t questioning the result of the game - of course a team like Arsenal should, and more often than not do win handsomely at home against anyone outside the top six, mostly due to the huge resources they’ve got. My point was that clubs outside of the top six will never get the rub of the green away from home at these places, as Wolves found out at Manchester City yesterday. I’ve been to many many games as a neutral (as I am in this case) and have seen it with my own eyes, including phantom time added on for Manchester United to allow them to scrape results during the Fergie era. So, rather than being “silly”, I’m giving my opinion as a neutral rather than a polarised fan. Bournemouth should have got a goal. They didn’t, and that is the norm for a lower level team playing away at a huge club like Arsenal.

On balance Arsenal did deserve the win but the officiating just leaves the fans who travelled feeling annoyed. Havertz drags his foot searching for the contact, if he just carries on running I’m sure he would’ve rounded travers to score and we wouldn’t be having this debate! And the disallowed goal…billing was literally having his shirt removed prior to what looks the barest of touches on Raya. It’s bewildering. Seen a lot about Christie’s challenge but the prem highlights didn’t show it so I can’t make judgement. It just looked like a 50-50 that saka got to a fraction of a second before Ryan from where I was sat. I said before the game I was expecting to lose 2-1 or 3-1 and had it been that with clear goals you hold your hands up to a better team. The decisions just leaves a bitter taste. Oh well, let’s beat Brentford next week to get over the 50 point mark.

Amazing Arsenal in the first half but great defending, Christie should have been on a yellow (would that have changed him.. I suspect so/hope so). I hate the pen you know it will be given but he was already going down…. Our goal should have stood or our pen. Honestly another VAR shocker, what’s the point…… Travers had a cracking game. As Tom said doesn’t matter as Arsenal will win as much as us this season. 😂

Think every team in the league has felt hard done by VAR this year. Feels like people have an expectation that VAR should be used to make every call correct, when it is actually being used to only intervene on "clear and obvious" mistakes whatever that means. You lot have been outstanding these past 6 months, so congrats on a great season. I will take the 3 points and hope City drop points before then end however unlikely that may be. Love the channel and best of luck going forward! #COYG

i understand bournmouth club issues with the game against us. its valid . Bournemouth were an amazing team to watch. Was a better team than our supposed top six rivals. and Solanke and that left back of yours were basically so good i was accusing them of being on steroids. absolutely monster group and an admirable coach. but arsenal is the champion level top of the league team that are almost 30 points above them. we could have won 5-0 and done another brutal performance. var be damned but you have to realize all it did is make us win 3-0 instead of 2-1 or some other scoreline. arsenal are the top of the league brutal european team. This team should technically be playing real madrid in the semi finals had we gotten the saka penality on game 1 against munich. I like Bournemouth and brentford as proper clubs and seeing their records in 2024 id say they are a proper english team. and arsenal got this win by dodgy ref decisions and other circumstantial reasons. Arsenal should be playing real madrid in the ucl semis if we didnt get robbed of a clear penalty. this is a very well put together team. that might get nothing because of the 115 club. Dont discount either clubs. and im glad because seeing how far brentford and bornmouth were able to get give me a joy in how far football has come.

i watched that game and it was never a penalty. i would like to see a ref show some courage, he watched the replay, he should have told the "fouled" player the goal keeper did not make contact with you, you made contact with him by dragging your leg, that is simulation, yellow card and penalty canceled.

Ive been saying it for a very long time, the premier league is all about the major teams and if you are anything but, dont expect any decisions going your way . Arsenal fan here, but I do like Bournemouth. AGREE with you about the penalty, but with a big 'but'... 'trailing leg' penalties have been given for years; master exponents of this: Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Gerrard, Vardy, Kane and countless others (Arsenal have been on the receiving end of many of these). So, at the moment, refs should give these if they are being consistent - in fact, it's about the only consistent thing they have done in the past 20+ years apart from being consistently awful. DISAGREE on the Bournemouth 'goal'. Solanke looked at Raya and deliberately eased him off the ball. Foul. Yes, Saliba was holding Billing back, but when are these ever given as penalties? I remember a couple of your players doing exactly the same thing for Senesi's goal at the Emirates last season and they got away with it. MAYBE you were hard done-by, but, at that stage the Cherries should have long been down to 10 men because of that nasty studs-up foul by Christie on Saka. That's as clear a red card as you'll see - as red as the blood coming out of the gash on Saka's shin. Anyway, I like the way Bournemouth play and I always look out for your result. You've got an excellent coach and it's nice to see that the players responded to your rocky start to the season. Also, shout out to 'Back of the Net', always an enjoyable watch.

I had seen some sort of VAR reply about the Christie lunge, (can't find it now), which said that he started to pull out of the challenge by bending back at the knee and moving outwards, trying to miss Saka, failed though. He should at least have got a yellow, but Ryan does seem to be very lucky with these sorts of decisions. Arsenal were totally dominant for most of the game and deserved to win 100%.

Tom always a saltier than a McDonald's fry when they lose to a better side. By this logic city needed ref's help to beat Wolves by being handed a pen. Perspective is lost on him with season state. You can't want Arsenal to win the league and in the same breath pray they don't. Solanke Pushed Raya, any contact on the keeper in the box is always a slum dunk decision for the ref. This should be common knowledge, but a few pints deep can cloud judgement, Even Iraola said you were well beaten without the "controversy"

Arsenal definitely the better side, no question about that. Going to games sadly doesn’t afford the same experience as people at home who have multiple replays and the benefit of hindsight even moments after the things we see in the stadium, so there will always be raw takes on this channel. We can only comment on what we have just seen, and not on the parts we haven’t. Perspective will come a few days later.

Watched the game on the box today. Looking through the first 45 Arsenal were excellent and gave Bournemouth hardly any chance to be in the game. Travers did really well and the amount of times bodies were thrown to make blocks was really good defending. Harverz knew what he was doing to get the penalty by dragging his leg, you see it too often and I believe this just cons the referee, no matter for which team they play for. The last 10 minutes of the first half you could see Andoni trying to get his message across to the players, he did seem a little frustrated. Arsenal deserved the win but Bournemouth gave them a game in the 2nd half. Good game to watch though 😊

Its a penalty has to be giving foot left out has to be giving once theres contact it's not a dive. Raya grabs that ball without being nudged, keepers should be protected like they always are you cant just nudge a keeper can't . Is a foul every day

I suppose from a technical standpoint the issue is that players are specifically adapting their runs to be completely unnatural. He dragged his foot across the floor and waited. No one runs like that. Morally it’s not right, but being moral doesn’t win you points I suppose.

Was 3 terrible decisions arsenal's dive for the penalty, not giving the penalty for a shirt pull before doms very very soft foul for the disallowed goal and the Christie red that would have killed the game for us anyway.. sadly we better team won and i dont believe its anything to do about the clubs size difference but more about incompetent officials again, the bad decisions is something that we should expect every game now unfortunately... i seen the handball rule change 3 times this season for example.. having said all this i needed time to calm down after that game because i was full of salt lol... i would have said something alot different then this comment 5 minutes after that game for sure. Definitely felt like one goalkeeper was favoured more then the other.

I’m an Arsenal fan who’s been following you all since last year’s game at the Emirates, and while I feel everyone coming at it with a level head can agree Bournemouth were on the unlucky side to have those calls go against them, it has to be said that a VAR more willing to suggest a reversal on those is ALSO going to suggest a second look on Christie’s early tackle on Saka, the sort that Arsenal has no doubt been asking PGMOL to keep an eye on over the past few weeks; given the looks Arsenal were getting in the first half and the fact that Trossard and then Rice were able to finish a couple chances in the second half-if we’re allowing ourselves to speculate-a 10-man Bournemouth side seems extremely unlikely to put up a better result than the one you actually did after an extremely laudable performance, but l look forward to hearing your opinions on the second look. Hope you have a great end to your season, and while I’m rooting for Wolves today for obvious reasons, you all absolutely deserve a top 10 finish this year. Cheers!

We didn't deserve to win - they were miles better in 1st half - but there is no way the penalty should have stood or our goal disallowed. Arsenal more than capable of beating us today without the extra help! VAR not fit for purpose.

I said what goes around comes around! You got away with one at Wolves and today was pay back. Bournemouth also got away with Christies non red card, it was particularly nasty and could have been career ending. The penalty looked a penalty in real time, the keeper was risking it by going in with his legs.

You've got stupid players that do stupid things. Your goalkeeper comes with a straight leg and gets nowhere bear the ball. Of course, Havertz is gonna look for it. He's in a title race and wants to win. You gave him a reason to go down, and he took it. The disallowed was soft, but ye should have had a man sent off. You're lucky it was only 3-0. This reaction is by far the worst this excellent tv channel has put out. Tom you are a very salty ball breaker. After 10 minutes you are getting away with one of the worst tackles going. The penalty was soft I agree and the goal you lot scored was legit in my eyes. However, you are waffling buddy, don’t ruin your excellent channel talking garbage you are better than that. You got beat and the ref and var was against us both. You truly need to take a deep breath before exhaling the crap I’ve just heard… terrible

Christie should have been a red card, 100%. Penalty was a Penalty, when Kane does that it's called 'clever', and the disallowed goal was 100% correct. Actually watch the replay, the Bournemouth player didn't look at the ball even once, his entire focus was on pushing Raya to alter his position, it is 100% a foul and 100% correct to disallow the goal. You were thrashed today and were lucky it wasn't worse. The only referee mistake was the red card, and that went in your favour.
