Meant also to say it is so refreshing to find an Honest Instructor, by that I mean, unlike so many other people who post tutorials you are not afraid to leave in you small errors, such as when doing the final turn and not being in the right position, I am sure other only post Perfect Videos. For me your approach makes me feel better when I don't get it right. So Thank You.🛩

Ah that's very kind of you to say! :) Yeah I wanted people to remember that it's just a simulation, we're doing this for fun and it's all a learning process so it's ok to make mistakes. Making mistakes isn't "wrong" in any way.

It's a bit strange that the beacon light has to be checked after the engine is already started, I thought this beacon light is also a warning to stay away from the plane prop

If I set real world weather (15 mins update) in freeflight, what should I be setting change of weather rate to? Should I set it to no change or high or medium?

I am following the tutorial without the Autorudder option but I find it kind of annoying how the cessna turns left, I know this is normal and is the effect of the newton laws but my question is... in your tutorial are u using the Autorudder option? You make it look so easy. Btw thank you so much for the tutorials.

Hello. Great video!! May I know how to check the oil pressure? I mean what oil pressure indicates it is in normal situation? Also, may I know what is meant by 'remain in pattern' when u request taxi? Thanks!! Finally find a KZfaq channel that I can really learn!

How much does doing this change tax the computer processor and graphics card? Mine is fairly basic, not a gaming PC at all, I have everything on minimal just to make sure the game runs smoothly.

You might get some benefits from it. The problem is that FSX is a very resource heavy piece of software and it's an old piece of software as well, so it's not optimised to take advantage of modern computing power.

Hi brother, When I setup the realism settings in my fsx, all my sliders to the right when flying the Cessna 172 during the climb the aircraft pitches up all the time and I never reach my cruise level in the game. In this case to 4000 feet. When that happens the plane keeps going into stall mode and keeps dropping down so I never reach my cruising level that way!!!!!!!!!! Please help me as soon as possible. Thank you very much. Regards, Chris

+fgill76 If you mean private pilot training for real world flying, the best thing you can do is find your nearest flight school and speak to a qualified instructor there.

+Doofer911 thx, I plan on that too but in the meantime I'd like to practice with the same sim as your using in these PC tutorials. What exact PC DVD are you using or what do you recommend for my new Windows-7 PC? I've really learned alot already from your tutorials and I really appreciate it, GOOD JOB!

Ah ok, I'm flying in a game called FSX (Microsoft Flight Simulator X). I think the original game is still sold online, but if it's easier you can buy it through Steam, an online gaming platform/shop. As for all the videos, I've simply studied everything through various websites online, like Wikipedia for example.

Ello, I have been watching your videos in some strange order, but trying to do the "tutorial series" in order now. I know you went through the checklist in the order the checklist is.. But my understanding of the Beacon light while on the ground was to warn people not to walk up to the aircraft? For instance, starting the engines and such.. But the Cessnar checklist has it afterwards.
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah you're correct in thinking that the Beacon light is a warning to people on the ground and it should be switched on BEFORE engine start and AFTER engine shutdown. The checklists for the default planes are very basic though.
@ColinRichardson

I just wanted to make sure I was right about the beacon. That way I can ignore the checklist. Thank you.

But in order to start up the engine, it first needs to be shut down. How do you do that? Do you need to do it manually or is there a setting before loading in that shuts the plane off by itself?
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 7 жыл бұрын
You would have to do it manually then save the flight with the engine off.
@treborhg_9381

you can also start your freeflight with fuel at 0% and the airplane will be off. You can add the fuel while at the terminal by requesting fuel truck

The checklist is wrong...shouldn't the beacon be switched on before engine start?
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I guess the checklists for the default planes were added in quickly, I think some of the larger aircraft don't have a startup procedure, the built in checklist just says "Press CTRL+E", there's no step by step guide.

How do you set it to where, everything in the plane is already off?
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 6 жыл бұрын
Two ways, one is to start a flight, manually turn off everything and then save the flight. Then just load that up every time you want to start from "Cold and Dark", where everything is off. Alternatively, I believe that there is a freeware mod somewhere on the internet that does this for you, so you could search around for that if you wish.

Until now I have 9 circuits and I still can not do them well, I confess that I do not have a joystick and I'm doing it with the mouse, I hope to receive my joystick soon to see what it feels like to fly with it and hopefully my circuits will work out
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 6 жыл бұрын
Not to worry, circuits can be difficult for beginners because there's a lot to do in a relatively short amount of time. Flying with a joystick will certainly feel more natural and I'm sure you'll be flying a lot more confidently once you have it.
