Fun fact: boarding the medbay at the last boss and hacking it when the crew is fighting you is the best thing ever for eliminating crew. Leaving a single crew alive in the burst laser weapon room to the left of the cockpit also prevents AI from activating. So the next two runs the biggest issue would be mind control and zoltan shield, but if you have a shield bypass it's not even an issue, so your crew can wreak havoc on the systems like shields unopposed Also, crews onboard the flagship do die when it disengages

Some people center their build around shields. Others build around heavy weapons. But we all know... *Kidnapping is the best meta in FTL.*

They added a second way to unlock the crystal ships. You just have to beat the Flagship with layout A and B of every ship except Lanius

According to the wiki the third phase has two separate "super" abilities the first is the lazors the second being the Zoltan supershield, the cycle repeats the lasers twice before its shields come back online

Putting extra scrap in your engines is always a good idea for when subsystems get damaged or for when you don’t need all three layers of shielding. It’s also debatable weather or not upgrading your cloak is good as the primary advantage is that you can charge your weapons longer. But this ship isn’t based on weapons. The weaker the cloak the faster the recharge time meaning you can strategically dodge attacks like missiles more reliably.

Regarding the stealth: If you stealth with less energy in the system, it will not last as long, but be off cooldown faster, which can be especially useful for the powersurges and missiles, if you only need to dodge for a brief period!

The fancy gun at 10:50 is a Chain Vulcan. It's an upgrade to the Chain Laser. At maximum, it fully charges in 1.1 seconds. Yes, really. Needless to say, that's very powerful. It takes a long while to build up though, so it's best in long fights where it can spool up to full and just unload.

You're not wrong, nebula sectors do give you more time, but less so than in normal sectors.

The crystal cruiser B is the single best boarding ship in the game because of crystal crew members special ability

Some more tips: - In most fights you should wait to cloak until a missile or shots fire, then use evasion chance to dodge them. This still delays the charge on their 2nd shot. There are exceptions to this such as if you have cloaking 3 early on stealth B, but in most cases it's the best play. You've taken a lot of damage that can be avoided this way. - Board into enemy crew so you immediately get 2v1 hits, makes winning even in situations like 2 slugs vs 2 enemy humans reliable. - Upgraded MC increases health and damage of MC'd enemy crew, so you can take 3v3 fights in 4 square rooms easily to clear enemy crew faster. - Phase 1/2 should be damageless on this difficulty with boarding + cloaking. Board missiles, then ions/lasers to break them, then simply mind control and kill all the crew in main area. On hard the missiles won't stay broken, so you have to be more creative in how you approach this fight. On normal, you can just kill everything this way like you did. - If you open rooms around a breached room and put two power in oxygen, the room will stay breathable. You can use boarders to smash their drone control and make the boarding drone/constantly there drones stop. - No orbital support in RFS fight, so don't worry about that. You can use this to run away with RFS crew in phase 3 if you don't kill them in first two phases. GG

Nebula beacons in nebula sectors DO slow down the rebel fleet. Its just that the amount is reduced from 50% to 20%.

I think to unlock the crystal cruiser way easier. You need Rock cruiser type c, as this one already has a crystal crew member. So you only need to find a Rock home world.

Okay, one thing: if your crew has to fight an enemy or a boarding drone in a room without oxygen, you can open the doors to nearby rooms so some of it flows into the desired one. That way you can prevent your guys from losing too much hp

If you want to attempt getting the Crystal ship, easiest way to do it would be starting by unlocking the Rock C layout. Using the Rock C cuts out the most RNG-dependant part of the Crystal ship's quest.

The Ultimate Death combo in FTL: Stealth Cruiser B (which comes with a glaive beam), Burst Laser 4, Weapon preigniter. Nothing can withstand this.

You need to add this to your FTL playlist.

If you can’t get the crystal ship you could always go into the game files and edit your save file to give yourself the crystal ship.

The flagship can use its power surge to recharge its zoltan shield instead of firing the lasers, I think it does that on every 3rd(?) surge so that’s how it got the shields back

You could have vented all your crew and sent your last crew member over to kill theirs, getting the last achievement. Then teleport back and blast them dead.

Love this and glad I followed from the episode u talked about getting the mantis ship unlocked and watching u do it a run later was the best glhf and keep up the great content

If you use lvl 1 cloak, the shorter time means it recharges quicker and you can cloak all of the super weapon blasts

More ftl would be cool

You ever just get a Glaive beam and a Flak II with weapon pre-igniter. Fights take less than 4 seconds its super fun.

I think lvl 2 and 3 upgrade for cloaking is pointless. Longer recharge time while lvl1 can dodge the entire power surge.
