Love the final build!!!! Just curious if you updated any electronics and if your still running it with the stock radio? I bought the HW 880 esc and a dumbo x6 but I’m stuck trying to get the steering modes set up? Appreciate any help and keep up the great work!🍺
@Pezzapoo Жыл бұрын
thx mate, I kept the stock electrics sue to that choice, if you switch out the esc you will lose all the funky steering modes but on the downside I believe that its the stock ESC that struggles with power output to two motors under load, especially with heavier wheels etc. Even switching motors had little effect on the stalling. So your option will work but you will need probably two esc's, one for each motor and a good transmitter receiver combo that you can setup properly to give you the steering options.

Hi, I have two questions. What length did you cut the aluminum tubes for the links? and what size are the new shock absorbers?
@Pezzapoo Жыл бұрын
The tubes are the same length as the standard ones but just curved at one end. Not sure on shocks, will have a look when I get it out of storage. I did one for a friend and just kept standard shocks with pen springs, it worked better.

Hi mate, Its not in front of me now but Its got two 15 or 25mm wheel spacers one either side attached to the chassis and I just manually screw in the wheel nuts through two holes I drilled in the sides of the body

@Pezzapoo Жыл бұрын
Sry not sure what the body is called, it was a cheap fb purchase something like ‘storm’ the cars were great at funduro but recently I have a clicking noise from a diff but its a cheap fix. Imo you could get the best performance from keeping stock wheels/tyres and putting pen springs inside the standard shocks. Just do the tray chop mod and make some links. Tbe heavier wheels are a negative as the esc is weak on power.

I’ve got mine built almost exactly the same, and when I twin steer it flips the body almost in on itself. The only thing I can see that’s different are the aluminium arms you’ve made. In your opinion, could that make all the difference? If so can you sell me some please! 😂
@Pezzapoo2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean it folds in too tight sam? Are your shocks in similar places too?
@sambeach91692 жыл бұрын
@@Pezzapoo Yea that’s right, and then it doesn’t return. I have just rewatched and heard the bit about the springs returning the truck to droop instead of full extend, so I’m going to try that! So what exactly is the difference between the Danchee RidgeRock, the FTX Ravine, and the Capra? I noticed you have them all in the title so are they basically the same crawler, just solunar different brand names with a different poly body?
@Pezzapoo Жыл бұрын
Ravine is sold in UK, Ridgerock in USA, both same cheap cars, the Axial capra is a high end equivalent that I'm comparing this to for a fraction of the price
@mrfixitusa6165 Жыл бұрын
@@Pezzapoo is the ridgerock & capra close enough that any of the parts are interchangeable? Like the suspension four link bars and steering control bars etc? I've already replaced the stock ones with stainless steel straws, and threaded rod for the steering. I also put the 25kg servos in it, a 5200 battery, and 2.2 x 5.75 hyrax predator tires. With all that and the additional 8 oz of suspended weight on the very bottom center beside the stock ESC, and 6 ounces that are currently in the front tires but will soon be moved the axle, it already performs a whole world better than it did stock. I also made some custom risers for the suspension mounts so I could lower the center of gravity while keeping most of the articulation. But the major flaw I have now is the motors are just too weak, and the rear wants to stall out.

I thought the tires were plastic. 1x9 tires and wheels with mud terrains installed, only $60. When i looked up the stock Danchee wheels and tires only cost $38. Your not getting good tires dir a $99 crawler. Itll go olaces my Gen 7 sport could never go. The tires are the only drawback to me. Easily fixed.
