yes the truss rod needs to be adjusted VERY carefully in tiny increments! I learned this at a guitar setup workshop recently. Fortunately on my Suhr it is a piece of cake to adjust the hex screw on the headstock 1/8 inch.

agreed they make great products for Floyd Rose guitars. I use the trem blocker all the time to help ease the chore of changing strings.

just what I was wondering, too. my guess is you will have to remove the d-tuna and reinstall the original screw, then use the key. after the intonation lock srew is tightened you can reinstall the d-tuna. the price we pay for simplicity...

fretted - I was thinking the same. - I don't think it's "for you", because the neck will bend slightly when you face it up or down. In this case, the neck was probably bending "backwards" because it was hanging freely, causing the pitch to be slightly sharp. And while I appreciate he didn't use one of those silly "cradles", if he did it would likely have bent the beck "forward" and caused the pitch to be slightly flat. It probably also depends on the weight of the neck and maybe how sturdy the wood is and all that, but I would definitely do it (or at least check the intonation) while having it on its side. There's the least chance for any flexing into directions that would cause to alter the pitch.

If this happens, it must be vintage guitars.

@@iniquity7 This only happens to my vintage guitars. Especially thinners Gibsons like SG's/specials/deluxes. All my modern guitars don't have this problem, because they have stable necks. Hell, my modern, $50 guitar doesn't have this problem.

what do you do for flat notes and need to move the saddle forward?you push instead of using the thumb wheel?becuase the way i see it here in order for it to stay in place and hook up it can only go backwards with the thumb wheel

​@@dpapaioannowI know this question is many years old, but for anyone doing research on this and may be curious about this, the string tension will automatically try to pull the saddle forwards, so "unscrewing" the thumb wheel, once the saddle screw is loose, will allow the saddle to move forwards. Just the exact opposite direction of what was shown in the video.

I have this issue too I have a 90s Charvel with a schaller FR and a mid 2000's Ibanez and it doesn't seem to do much apart from holding the bridge in place (the sliders still need to be moved manually which is the main issue) It would be nice if @fu-tone published a compatibility check for which units it can be used on.

Remove the D-Tuna - Use the original string lock screw and intonate the saddle. Then put the D-Tuan back on.

Only on trems where the the back lip of the bridge is level to the body - straight out. Not the angled type.

Will this work on 1500 series.

2.5mm and 3mm allen wrenches will fit the main bolts 3mm for the saddle locking bolts and the locking nut and the 2.5mm for the saddles

No - if the back angle of the "whale tail" is angled down towards the body. Make your saddle movs by hand in that case.

This guitar is in half step tuning - so I intonated the B sting to A#. All of the same steps apply no matter what tuning you use.

@@FloydUpgrades I got a decent imitation Strat with good really nice action but the low E seems to like jump all over the place before it settles down to slightly sharp is that normal or does it need to go to the shop and have some professional do it watched a bunch of you guys intonate guitar's and I don't know if the application I used don't own a Peterson or anything so I'm trying applications online maybe I should just go buy a better tuner that I can use to intonate or I started wrong or I don't know maybe it does need to be professionally set up seems to play real nice and got that Strat Twang

Dorf Googlesteen - For a tuner a Boss TU 3 (or even 2) is like a global standard. But you could also go for like a Korg, which have a bunch of very good ones. Just pick one you like and fits your budget, and it will probably last forever.
