Theres a commonly known trick for this, notice the pattern: 11 x 11 = 121 111 x 111 = 12321 1111 x 1111 = 1234321 See you could do it easily in a second.

Honestly there’s a line for me to like math, and I’m just glad that that line hits before the complex part where absolutely no average person would use in their daily life. I’ve played game that indirectly uses math to be max efficient, so that is probably the reason.

A possible explanation is that they were mainly taught a mechanical approach to arithmetic instead of a deeper understanding that allows you to reformulate math problems into something simpler.

@@ShinNoNoir85This is very important I was naturally gifted in math and would simplify almost all the equations that were put in front of me elementary to middle school. However my teachers just scolded me and told me I was doing it wrong so I didn’t properly learn math until later in highschool because I always felt my method of removing simple parts of equations then adding it in after finishing the complicated part. I only learned after a proper teacher gave me examples as to why that doesn’t always work.
