Brendan's drumming is so fluid and funky. I would say he was their secret weapon... but honestly, they had 4 secret weapons.
@pabloisusi60974 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you. The four of them worked as a swiss clock. They were awesome at their instruments. There have not been many bands in history in which all members play in a really creative way a fundamental and essential role in a band.

Their rhythm section was absolutely their secret weapon, while Guy and I'm were their obvious weapons. Just watch the amount of communication between Lally and Canty. They're practically glued at the hip and always making eye contact. One of the tightest rhythm sections is the last 30 years of rock.

The $15 I spent in the early 90s to see Fugazi 3 times is still the best $15 I ever spent. Beats the hell out of spending $15 for a “value meal” in 2023.

Famous concert photographer Glen Freeman working his magic to the right of Ian. His Fugazi concert photography book came out a year ago. Good stuff.

He came to DC recently at MLK Jr. Library with Ian. He was so nice to sign all my books. Ian and Jeff Nelson were cool and signed the Minor Threat book.

This is the greatest angle to shoot the fugazi show. I love lots of bands but fugazi is the greatest of all time to me. Just missed seeing them live for the last time on the last tour of o2. Got to see Ian and Amy one evening as the Evens. Hope to see coriky someday soon.

And to think they don't write set lists. It's all improve after the first song. Just cueing in on everyone else's movements,etc... must've seen them dozen times between 89-2001.

@@brendanmaguire9748they were masters of improving in and around this genre and considering how rare that is compared to the number of groups that would be able to successfully accomplish this, not to mention at the level and with the consistency that Fugazi did (their whole career!), also is a reminder of why I appreciate Fugazi.

These are just guys who served me ice cream, or lived around the corner near the 7-11, or gave me their phone number when I was booking shows at 1111-19th Street, or friends with my gf. That they became one of THE greatest rock bands of the Rock Era isn't surprising so much as we all knew them and liked their music.
