Thank you for your compliment but those pictures where taken with different lenses as I was not really invested in the Fuji system yet at the time of taking those images... But you can replicate the look with this lens too actually :-)

It's not that noisy, you will notice it but not to the point that your microphone will unless if you are filming indoor (super silent) and using the internal mic. Otherwise, your mic will never really pic up. It's a great lens to use and if you are planning to use the continuous AF, this lens is more accurate than many other continuous AF compare to many other Fuji lenses.

@@DavidCuhls Thanx for your reply. I appreciate it. Accuracy of continuous AF is also one of the important factors to me. Thinking of its brightness, this lens suits me. I will use it with external microphone!

I would use it in the night urban set up, of course! It's a great performer in lowlight but how narrow the aperture I would limit really depends on the condition. If I am shooting portrait, usually between 1.4 - 1.6 but otherwise I would not go beyond f/4.0 hand held. But all of this also depends on the ISO settings, shutter speed and more... sometimes I cannot go higher than f/2.0 to get stable results... So it really depends on the situations and the other settings limitations in the situation...

Thank you for the compliment!:-) I do shoot with the XF 35mm f/2.0, XF 55-200mm, XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6, XF 60mm f/2.4 macro lens. However, the lens that stays on my Fuji cameras 90 - 95% of the time is this XF 16mm f/1.4 :-)

Haha, I would almost agree with that if lenses like the 8-16mm and 56mm 1.2 wasn't around. Of course, they are two different lenses but I think that those two lenses, in my opinion, are also some of the best Fuji lenses out there. :-)

David Cuhls the only reason the 8-16mm isn’t my favorite is the size and weight.

Thank you for the compliment but I that it's still best if you have a chance to try it, do try it first because this focal length is not really a preferred fixed focal length for many~~ That being said, if you like the focal length, you don't need to worry about the image quality because it's great. I don't own that lens but from what I can see and experience, I think that it is a very nice lens if you like the focal range, it is also sharp and focuses decently. I like the fact that it is 1.4 but I don't like that it is not weather sealed though...

You can definitely use it for landscape photography. That being said, the 10-24 will be able to give you more flexibility on the field if you are not sure weather you can commit to just one focal length... But if you can get used to the 16mm like I did, then you can definitely shoot landscape with it. Honestly, I just bought the 10-24mm yesterday and only to figure out that I already got used to the 16mm 1.4 that I naturally always naturally turn the lens to 16mm focal length and only to realise that after taking a few pictures already~~

I think that this question really depends on who is saying it than a statement that it is "weird" and/or "awkward"... In my opinion, a 24mm is a very nice focal length to be at when shooting wide because it's a sweet spot before things can look a little too distorted... That said, what I mean by "weird" (as also mentioned several times in the video) is it's not usually your first lens to reach out to when you are doing most of your shoots and/or traveling somewhere new. That said, if you can make it work and if you can get use to it, you will be able to produce some really great results with this focal length, especially with that depth of field of 1.4... Now, whether if you will find it practical, good, weird, awkward, etc. is really up to you and your way of shooting (not other users)... If you like it, then use it, no need think about what other users are saying about the lens because at the end of the day it's your shot and you are the one who have to be happy with it... I am deeply sorry if what I said in the video might offended you at some point but please don't take it personally as this is only my thought videos based on the way I shoot...
