Hey so I realized the reason my viewfinder looked poopy is because my jpeg settings had reduced clarity and sharpness, which made the viewfinder look sort of out of focus. My diopter setting was fine, it was just the jpeg custom settings that threw me off. K THANKS BYE

If you are feeling viewfinder preview is soft, try adjusting the diopter.

You can definitely adjust tone curves with the Nikon Picture Control Utility. Don’t think you can add grain though.

This is quite interesting! As a fellow Photographer I have always gone for either the full on camera with RAW files + editing to get photos I care about and my phone for just documenting life, but smartphones are NEVER as good as a camera. But the idea of having a small, light camera to carry arround and take JPEGs just great photos directly out of your camera is AMAZING by doing this video you have given me a new way of living life without editing as much. (Which I really do not enjoy, I enjoy taking photos and the results after the editing but the editing part itself I really don't like.)

If they offered cool jpegs would your really use them or would you still shoot RAW and edit yourself. I hear plenty of people saying they want these cool joegs but then they mostly are proponents of shooting RAW.

The one thing I’ve noticed is that the viewfinder is too bright in low light. lol. Photos look overexposed in the viewfinder. Unless I need to change something in the setting

The viewfinder is fine but when using b&w preview the sharpness is awful and makes it look mushy. Switch to standard and it is sharp again. It’s pretty annoying.

Panasonic will release soon a new camera, imagine S5II but retro Leica style :) and Real Time LUT support... For me it is the end of the game - retro, AF, full frame and real film or whatever you want simulations.

It's not as intuitive, but you can make custom JPEG profiles in the Nikon Picture Control Editor - no grain simulation or anything, but custom curves are supported.

Nick picking a bit man, you ac upload your own styles/recipes and the menu is not that bad, you just have to get used to it, I find Sony's really terrible, but that's because I don't use that camera, other than that, awesome video and I love my ZF :)

Regarding the EVF, there is a little wheel next to it that you can use to adjust the sharpness according to your sigh :)

Literally no one is talking about the EVF being "not sharp" except you, the text on EVF is not indication that your diopter is correct. You should adjust your diopter and play around with it before making a conclusion. Worse case scenario is your copy is defective, but I doubt that's the case.

I’m a Nikon analog fanboy, and a Fuji user, and the B&W JPEGs looks good, but the colors are horrendous. Very bland looking, no style. Also, I think the FF hype is overrated. You get a tad more bokeh, but people would say that they would flip their X-T2 towards a Zf just for that, and I think that’s too bad. To be fair, that’s also why I’m now shooting film. Nikon made the best SLRs, the best DSLRs, but nowadays it’s just meh. As every camera anyway.
