Small, customisable and easy to use. Looks perfect for street photography. A flip screen and acros sim would be useful but nothing is perfect. Can't wait to buy one so my XT2 can have some rest.

The XF10 has already been released in Korea. I didn't buy it the fastest either. You can buy it on the official homepage of Fuji Film in Korea. My XF10 is now in the A/S center and has been declared defective. So I decided to exchange it for a new product. My XF10 may have been a particular problem, but other users are complaining of similar symptoms.

I got exchanged for a new camera. But there are a lot of users in the Korean online community who complain about similar symptoms. My exchanged camera is working without any problem. I don't think that's the overall problem with the XF10, but the low light level problem seems to have quite a bad percentage. I don't think most users are aware of this problem while using it during the day. If you are willing to buy, make sure to test your camera for low AF after purchase.

I am so glad I found this video; I have had the camera for a week and I knew next to nothing. In less than 10 minutes I learned much more than I had all week. I have been getting great images all week, somehow though; the image quality and color are amazing. Now that I actually know a little more, I'm ready to go back out. I hear the criticism, but this thing is SMALL, and I am not going to dwell on what this camera is not; I can afford it, I can work with it and know its quirks, and the images are amazing. I pull it out of my pocket and shoot. This little camera is my muse, for sure!

Thanks. I think the philosophy behind the XF10 is portability and compactness. Excellent. XF20? : referring to other Fuji advanced compact cameras with big sensor (X100V, X70), I am wondering if the company could include a tilting screen like the X100V, Hot shoe and pop-up EVF, Keep the control ring (aperture ring or focus ring or snap focus ring or just a programmable ring for these functions), keep the flash, keep the PASM dial, lens cover integrated... What do you think?

Hey guys, I posted this on other channel too, I hope you don't mind... I just bought a used XF10 and am just playing around with it a bit. I must say that I do like the camera very much though the Fn 1 and 2 buttons are really tiny and not comfortable to use. Right now I set Fn-button 1 (and also 2) to AE-Lock. But EL doesn't show up on the display nor does the camera do anything like AE-Lock. Has anybody an idea what could be the problem or is it really a bug? When I tried other settings around AE the setting didn't work on my camera either. Thanks for your answers.
@fujiguys
@fujiguys 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. On the XF10, the AE-Lock is effective when in P,S,A or M modes. If you are in SR+ or any of the program modes, AE-Lock is not enabled.

'A great lttle camera etc etc...' is condescending/judgemental/bigger is better. The word is 'great' and leave it at that. 43MB RAW files give me oodles to work with and final results that compete with my full frame Sony. The XF10's size makes it ideal for the street, in the hand, never in the pocket, at the ready, and able to catch the image in 3-5 seconds. It is, to my mind, primarily, a street camera - size, stealth, speed, end result. And at €350, who says 'expense guarantees quality'?

Reasons to not buy this camera: 1) No filter threads, which means no ND filters, no Macro filters, No UV filters, nothing. 2) Drastically loses sharpness in the corners, you have to basically crop it down to 18-20MP or less. 3) Focus stacking feature is exciting on paper, but not good at all in practice, to the point where it will never be useful. Tons of artifacts.

You can't resolve these issues with firmware. Firmware won't give you physical filter threads. Firmware won't change the lens characteristics to give you sharper corners/edges. And as for the focus stacking option, it's poorly implemented in ALL Fuji camera's that have the feature. So they aren't going to fix it specifically for the XF10. They probably need more user input over the feature and to refine the process more, but that could also be limited by the processor they have on board. These camera processors aren't anywhere near as fast as a PC, and they kind of need that speed and more memory to work with tons of big files for focus stacking. They could just take an album of focus stacked files and allow you to combined them yourself, but they don't do that. The camera basically takes a bunch of pictures, reduces them to JPEG, then tries to stitch them. You get nothing to work with for stacking yourself in post. That would be enough though, because all people really need automated is the focus change and taking a series of pictures. That would greatly reduce the work required to do focus stacking overall. But they don't even give people that option. With the Ricoh GR3 probably coming soon, there's basically no incentive to buy the Fuji even if it will be a little cheaper. Most people would pay an extra $100 for all the features the Ricoh GR's bring to the table. For example, the Ricoh GR2 has filter threads....but it also has a built in physical ND2 filter that can be enabled or disabled at will. ND2 filters are really good for photo's in decent lighting, adds a nice cinematic look. The GR2 also has a lens cover built in....so you turn it off, it closes and no need to worry about a lens cap or anything. Just turn it off and put it away without thinking. The convenience of those things, is really nice, and money savers. No need to buy a separate ND filter or carry one around with you. The GR2's lens is sharper....by a lot. The GR3 will likely be just as sharp. The body of the GR2 is much more solidly built, its got a huge amount of features and customization to the menu's and buttons. The only place where the XF10 might win, is better autofocus and maybe a stop of better low light at best because of having a more recently made sensor. But if it's not as sharp of a photo, then a little worse low light performance is way more preferable. What good is a well exposed but unsharp photo? If you want to take a picture of an open field and see every blade of grass, you get Ricoh GR2. There's people already posting videos showing that their Galaxy Note 8 takes similar or better pictures than the XF10....certainly sharper....of course the XF10 will win in lowlight in comparison.....but not $500 better. So most people will literally be better off with their smartphones than an XF10. But what the XF10 gains in better lowlight and noise reduction, it still loses in the dynamic range department. It crushes the heck out of shadows, and blows highlights. That really harms the main reason you would buy a Fuji: The Fuji colors. Highly saturated colors just don't look that good when the highlights are blown and the shadows are crushed. You can post process images from other camera's to have the same saturation of colors as Fuji does.

@@peoplez129 HI thank you for you thorough comment. I was lead to this video because I was watching lots of GR3 videos an somehow it was mentioned somewhere that it had a fuji competitor. I own 2 DSLRs, almost all the STM lenses, an old s95, a Lumix LX-10, GoPro and DJI spark. I was watching GR3 photos looking for reasons if it will have a place in my kit but sadly the camera is $1000 almost 2x the the XF10. I only knew of the XF10 this week and must have missed it though I watch a lot of youtube videos. Im now watching this video because I was attracted to the lower price of the XF10.

No, it's a good camera for casual snapshooters or beginners. But Fuji makes good products, it can probably take some good pictures. It's not a tool for artists though.

24 MPS APS-C sensor is not a toy camera as you say. However it looks like it is slow to focus. @$449.00 it seems like a lot of camera for the money.

@@valeriegroovenhoff1067 And I just bought a brand new one today for $350. That's a steal in my book, even considering some of the shortfalls of the camera. I have an X-T3 and a D750 if I'm really worried about getting the best image possible. : )
