I love the Fuji 690 rangefinders with their leaf shutters and their massive negatives. I own the 690 with the 90mm lens and the wide version with the 60mm lens. I use them mostly for landscapes and portraits, not just WTF street shooting.

Danvil The problem is that you can't just simply shoot one roll on a camera you've never used before, and then quickly pass judgement. This is especially true when the you go aimlessly trigger-pressing with no real purpose, but to make a KZfaq video.

The whole point of this camera is GIANT prints. For the web you might as well use a Pentax K1000.

Bird Poo stinks as well..! Glad you got it cleaned. Yes 6X9 is expensive but it gives you more cropability than 6X6 I guess. That camera is considerably lighter than most medium format models but I agree its not one I would go for simply on running costs.

The same basic camera and lens also comes in 6x7 and 6x8cm formats, giving 10 shots per roll. They all cost about the same, but the 680 got little circulation outside Japan, so can be harder to find.

Ask yourself why you want to do photography. You're obviously not a very visually curious person. You don't see the magic in the mundane. You don't love looking at things. You make excuses for giving up. Be like a kid and take delight in the world around you.

I have a Fujica GW690, love the neg size, though it does have an exposure issue. the first image overlaps on the second and does the seventh on the eighth. If you have any advise or knowledge of where or how I could repair / fix this issue please let me know...

advance the film very slowly. had same problem, started advancing much slower than before and spacing is totally spot on.

Hc110 is better suited for large formats.

In the rangefinder there are 4 lines. Are those lines is how wide the photo is? - - Im sorry 😂🙏🙏 i never use rangefinder before.

Yep the lines indicate roughly what will be in the frame.

Try shooting LF. You have 2 shots. You really just plan for ONE shot. The problem with photography in general for me for the last 15 years is that the Leica Camera form factor is what I love. Simple, Utilitarian, manual and just all it needs to be. For my type of shooting but I absolutely fucking hate 35mm. Hate it. Too small negatives. I love the Medium Format 6x6 image. So I got a Hasselblad. Wonderful camera. BUT it really is a studio camera. It's not a street shooter. Then Fuji x cameras. They make a 75 percent clone of a Leica for 1/8th the price. Why didnt Fuji just produce the Fuji X bodies and make their lenses autofocus but also a greater smoother manual focus lens ? It would have killed Leica. Leica M10 is really THE ONLY camera the average person needs but the camera costs as much as a fucking automobile. It's crazy. So we get by with film cameras tricking our minds into substituting crap with what we know the pinnacle of simple picture taking is. IF the M6 took medium format photos I'd buy it. Lol. Another issue is that there is So Much Choice today. That people talk more about cameras than actual good photographs.
