Hi Chris, I'm loving your X-T4 videos especially as I bought this camera just a week ago. I may use it to shoot some of my next KZfaq video. This "timer" video is very timely, no pun intended, but you have made a mistake in this video. I want to use these timer features to enable me to get into group wedding photographs. You can not combine the INTERVAL TIMER SHOOTING settings with the SELF-TIMER settings and this is a bIg shame as I really need to be able to do this. Ideally, I want to set the Interval Timer Settings to take multiple shots every few seconds and after a short delay or say 20 seconds to enable me to join the group. You've rightly pointed out that the START WAITING TIME can not be set below 1 minute and let's hope Fuji can give the option for some shorter wait times so I was hoping that the SELF TIMER settings of 2sec and 10sec would combine with the INTERVAL TIMER but they don't! You thought that these settings can be combined but I don't think that's the case, unfortunately. Keep up with the great videos, they are so helpful. John.

I thought i am the only one. XE4 can’t combine this feature too. The other thing is it should allow for AF-C to function as well. Otherwise I can only change posture but have to stay on the same focus plane.

When I was in school, I always look forward to the days that we watched those videos. I kind of related that to watching your videos…can’t wait to watch them! Thanks for making your videos interesting and fun to watch. You’re a good dude!

Excellent as usual. The best thing Fuji did recently (aside for the GFX 100s perhaps) was to have some of the cameras (I am only aware of the XT4, GFX 100 and 100s) remember the setting for self timer. Godsend if one uses it a lot and has to deal with the camera shutting down and have to reset

One additional feature to tweak is how the number of shots only functions as a scroll - you have to scroll up to get to your desired number and it would be helpful for each digit to scroll Independently - when I’m setting up time lapses and the count is typically 350-500 it’s so exhausting to set that high number each time; it wastes time and energy when a different number filed (similar to the time) would allow you to get your shot count set faster.

Hi Chris. Great vid and the interval timer is something I’ve yet to utilise. I did notice that if I set my XT3 to low speed burst (CL) and then set the self timer for 10 seconds, that it took 3 shots each time . Maybe this would work with the interval timer to give you multiple shots each time it fired?

08:45 I wish I could choose „as quick as possible“ or „at least xx sec“. That would be helpfull for Holy Grail timelapses, where because of varying shutter times the interval is also variable. Although I must admit, the automatic Holy Grail Setting is very good in the X-T4. It also ramps the Intervalls, but as you said „...wanna have control...“

Hi Chris, some more info for you because i use a lot the interval timer for self portrait: I prefer put af M after focusing before start shot. Sometimes in afs i find fault focus photos an some correct. If you put afc the camera will continue focusing so if the subject is moving this mode il helpful. If you are not in full manual mode, you can have picture without the same exposure because camera recalculate ae before all shot. The interval time set between two shot is calculated from the star shoot or the end? If you have 10 second of exposure and 9 second of interval time between shot what happen? Last one, if you shoot with flash you have to calculate the flash charging time when set the interval time, if not you can have some wrong image 😉

XE4 doesn’t combine self timer and time interval. But not such a big problem, i can set more photo to accommodate that. But I like to have a choice for AF-C to work in time interval so subject doesn’t have to stay in one focus plane. Burst mode self timer is useless, it take multiple shots too fast.

Hey Chris, my biggest quarrel with the Canon R6 is that the self timer option locks focus, then counts down 10 sec and finally takes the shot. My old nikon Z5 would first count down, lock focus and lastly take the shot. What does the Fuji XT4 do? For taking selfies, I prefer the Nikon order because the Canon would lock focus while its facing the ground making all selfies blurry.
@gmcubed
@gmcubed 3 жыл бұрын
It locks focus first, unfortunately. Makes the mode almost useless for my purposes. I would rather use the nearly broken fuji app to trigger a shutter than the self timer because of this.

Hi, great video, as usual! If you want to have a picture taken, let's say, every 0.3 secs with the interval timer maybe we can set the interval timer to 1 sec, then put the camera in slow burst mode (setting 3 frames per sec)... Does it work like that? I don't have my camera with me right now... Or maybe shooting in brackets with filters? You can still remove the filters in post, if you are shooting in raw... Let me know what you think! Thanks!
