This is a tutorial video which includes the photos/videos I have taken from my mini 90 and tips on how to take them with comparing to a smartphone camera.
This does not have any introduction to the mini 90 or its functions, unboxing or how to set it up.
I'm not an expert on the camera, but these are things I learnt so far from the camera.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed the video and learned something new from this video. Share and like this video if you think this was good and useful to another as well.

wow this is super helpful, plus your photos and videos are so nice to look at. the smartphone comparisons are a great detail that I would never have even thought of--particularly for someone like me, who's so used to using her phone to take photos that I can hardly imagine anything else. I've never used an instant camera before but I'm planning on trying the mini 90. it would be so easy to make the mistake of picking it up and pointing/shooting like I would with my phone, but your tips really make me rethink that. thank you veeeeery much!

social media Thank you so much for watching my video! There is also a second part that I uploaded just today (link in description). I'm glad this video helped you! There are some really good videos out there where I too learnt a lot before buying this but im my opinion, dedicating a long video for unboxing and tagging it as a tutorial or tips might make it feel like a waste of time :)

Glad to see this video helped, after 7 years! I still believe that the mini 90 is the best of the analog cameras that came out from Fuji! Sadly, my mini 90 stopped working few years ago (E error) and I could not fix it.. I wrote down the modes I used on some of the pictures for reference, if you don't want to use the bottom part to write info, you can always paste a sticky note at the back or - there are frame stickers you can buy and use the middle part of that sticker pasted to the back!

damn! thank you for this. Very well thought out and executed - with the comparisons and labeling of the photos. Nice job. Can't wait to explore some of the more creative opportunities that the bulb and double exposure mode can present. You saved me money and really helped me to know what to expect, having only taken one shot so far. Cute pup and that picture of the lighted ball is super cool!

I tried to took a photo at my room which is the color of my lightning if yellow, then i took a photo using my instax mini 90 and use " L " afterwards, my photo came out in dark. Do i need to use a flash?
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 7 жыл бұрын
iza boo instax is best to take photos outside in natural light. If you want to take photos inside, make sure you have either lot of sunlight or a bright light. You can use the flash, but it will make the objects in the back darker. When using flash, don't keep objects too close (arms length) or it will end up looking white with a black background. Hope this helped :) Thank you for watching!

Wow you're a life saver! Thanks for the informative and very well organized video! If I could say one thing, maybe give a little more time for us to read the text, it was zooming by pretty fast. Other than that, thank you very much! Question- are there any obstacles I should avoid when shooting pictures of snow and also being outside in cold weather (about 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit)
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 7 жыл бұрын
mrhicks957 Answer - I wouldn't know much about snow since it doesn't snow where I live and haven't got the chance to shoot in snow. There were videos in YT where people have shot in the snow so I think going out in the cold with the camera wouldn't be a problem but I'm not too sure. Make sure to keep it a hard shell case when you are not taking it out to shoot even when you are outside - I do that too even if it doesn't snow here. Avoid moisture, direct sunlight, water and any snow flakes/snow on the camera. If you do want to shoot the details of snow (texture, various shades or protrusions) it might just show you a white background unless theres a major colour difference. I noticed that after I uploaded the video too.. It was made with the movie maker 2012 - which I'm new to - and had all the trouble after adding transitions and effects :P Thanks for the suggestion and watching!! Hope you have a brilliant new year!

Such a great video! Do you have any tips on how capturing a photo during night time? And i still confused when i should use D/L/L+ mode. Thanks!
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 6 жыл бұрын
Eli N. If you are capturing any objects (things or someone) at night - the best is to go with flash. D = Dark. This is good for overly bright scenarios - eg. sunny mornings. L = Light/L+ = Lighter. Good for scenarios which needs a bit more exposure and without flash - eg. Dawn, dusk, indoors. I hope this helps :)

Great tips!! really helpful! Do you have any tips on centering photos? I am still getting used to compensate the distance between the lens and the viewfinder.
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 7 жыл бұрын
Henrique Muniz It will all be on practise and assumptions - try if below works 1. portrait shot - on your viewfinder, aim the object a bit more to the right and downwards on the frame 2. landscape shot - on the viewfinder, aim the object a bit more left and downwards on the frame Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

For sunrise shots while using “L” mode, do I keep the flash on
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 6 жыл бұрын
- YaySchmitty - For Sunrise - I doubt you need the L. It depends on the amount of light at the time. For the flash on sunrise, you don't need it. Infact, flash is useless for landscapes. But make sure you dont shake the camera - place it on a tripod if possible. Thanks for watching!

wow thanks for these tips! I don't have to waste much films 😂 however I still struggle to use L L+ D mode 😩
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! The best lighting condition to get photos is day time or places with a lot of light. Using the L/D modes are tricky but try to match L with evening/night photos and D with mornings. L+ is good for washed out effect in photos. Hope this helps!

Can anyone tell me how to properly use the Bulb mode? Shall I press the capture button twice and ensure the second press under 10 sec after or simply hold the capture button for a certain period of time?
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 6 жыл бұрын
Yeeson Yu Bulb mode is more like long exposure. You just have to select the option from the screen and hold the shutter button. You can hold it upto 10 secs - it will automatically eject the film after. Don't mix this with double exposure - which is where you press the shutter button once on one scene and the second time on another scene - you dont press and hold for double exposure.

did you use flash when taking the pictures of the beach while having it on D or landscape mode? and on macro did you use flash? im still trying to figure out how to take better pictures on my neo 90. thank you for the video.
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 7 жыл бұрын
Jennifer Moscoso When taking landscape photos (far away scenary only) its pointless to use flash because the light won't reach that far so it won't affect anything. I didn't use the flash on that photo. Unless you shoot a macro in a bright light or sunlight, the camera tends to fire the flash. Macro in the mini 90 is arms' length (start of your shoulder to your palm) so there's a good probability that it can blur the subject if not in correct length and black out the backgroud when the flash fires. I learnt through a lot of trial and error but yes it's frustrating when the films are expensive *sob*. Hope I answered your question. If you have more, fire away! Thank you for watching the video!

Hi! is a normal photo taken with "fujifilm instax" sign on vertical position?
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 7 жыл бұрын
Davide Berz Hi, if you are asking about whether the photo comes out in a landscape or portrait mode when shot - it comes in portrait. In that way, when you check the back, the line "Instax" comes vertically. Hope I answered your question. I you do have anymore, feel free to ask me :) Thanks for watching!

Thanks! In portrait mode are you able to use the viewfinder? Because I noticed that is on horizontal position for landscape mode. It's a bit weird cos i dont understand why they didn't make the camera working on the right (horizontal) side to make portraits..
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 7 жыл бұрын
Davide Berz The mini 90 has 2 shutter buttons - one for portrait and other for landscape. 1. goo.gl/images/aGFXrM - hold it this way for portrait, look through the viewfinderand press the button next to the lens for a portrait pic. 2. goo.gl/images/bXVzeE - hold it this way for landscape pic. Check from the viewfinder and shoot.

I just bought this camera a few days ago, and I’m trying to take a pictures with my friends yesterday and wasting a lot of paper because the pictures comes out bad and i didn’t find a perfect mode cause i still didn’t understand how it works. And i wanted to asked you, what mode is suitable if you want to take a group pictures with timer and to take a portrait of yourself? And what situation is when we take a picture without any mode? I really looking forward for your reply, thank you.
@RochRulez
@RochRulez 6 жыл бұрын
I suggest watching a beginner video for this. Watch a load of these beginner videos so that you are more familiar with the modes. It will go through the different modes and what mode suits which event. The manual also has this information. When you first switch on, it detects the exposure and adjusts it to some level automatically (auto flash). As for the group photos with timer, you can adjust the settings (flash/L - light/D - dark)press the timer once (10 secs), look through the viewfinder (check for tips in this video for the area of capture) and press the shutter and run back. The ideal distance will be an arms' length if you want all the faces clear. Make sure the camera won't shake as you take a pic. It works well with camera stands - use one for timer photos. You can usually take Selfies or Landscapes with sufficient lighting (around 10am and before 6pm) without any modes/settings on. Make sure you check the screen when you switch on - if the flash icon blinks, it means its going to fire the flash. You can disable it. Happy photo snapping! :)
