This is exactly what I was looking for. Bigger battery, ibis, smaller body, flip screen, higher res, weather sealed. Nailed it, Fuji. Great job.

Totally agree. This might the perfect Fuji for photographers (not video) to date.

@@asqures5541 well, it's the larger battery that was introduced in the xt4 and not the smaller one that is found in the rest of the lineup. That larger battery is still a novelty in Fuji world.

It's a winner for photographers. Perfect upgrade from XT3. The only advantage for me over the X-H2 for me is that extra resolution on the EVF.

@@bbasleigh6149 To me the perfect solution would have been the body of the XH2 and the dials/tilt screen of the XT5. In other words if they has upgraded the XH1 with the same body. You can't win in this game!

I ordered the XT5 (Silver) and I'll also be keeping my XT4 and XPRO3 If an assignment calls for longer outdoor portrait sessions, I'll use the XT4 since I'll have the option to use the battery grip. The lack of a grip for the XT5 really was a bummer for me, but I'll make due. Overall, it's an outstanding update to an already stellar line!

I have an X-T4 at the moment. If what I like in both the X-H2 and X-T5 had been put together in one body, it would have been a n o-brainer. I want both cameras in the same body. I just love those retro dials.

There are two moments when Dave is talking that the framerate is very low. Was that a series of burst photos?

Various 3rd party operations came out with inexpensive battery-less grips for the x-t2 & x-t3. They extend the grip nicely and do so with little weight. As a bonus, they also protect on side and the bottom of the camera from scratches and dings. It would not surprise me if we soon see similar grips for the X-T5.
@JeffreyHauser

For all day shooting assignments, particularly for sports, portraits & candid assignments, an optional battery grip is ESSENTIAL! IMHO, despite the associated “upgrade” features with the X-T5, FUJI has “CRIPPLED “ this camera. What a shame.☹️☹️☹️😡😡😡
@drzman6901
@drzman6901 Жыл бұрын
@@JeffreyHauser I agree. However, the grips to which I referred, do not have batteries. This means that they are very light and offer protection to the camera and a more comfortable grip on the camera. This would suit the T5 since there is no way to attach an external battery. My bet is that 3rd parties will step up shortly.

I have been using my trusted X-T2 for a long time. Finally, I am feeling it is the time to upgrade. I am really impressed with the features offered by this camera. The only thing that's kind of missing for me is the in-camera focus stacking, although there are other viable solutions. (with more computer work...) Great video. thanks

This is a great preview, thank you. I'm very tempted, but I just wonder if there are even more compact cameras waiting for 2023. An X-T40/50, an X100VI, or something else? I like light cameras and I'm delighted that Fuji has stayed loyal to its retro stying in the X-T50.

Great video! You know, I went back and forth for weeks between the XH-2 and waiting on the XT-5 announcement. Ultimately, I don't shoot video. I love my XT-4 and I have been very excited about the new X-Processor 5 and the new 40MP sensor. I went with my gut and pre-ordered the XT-5 because my gut is more drawn to the stylings and experience of shooting that you mention in this video. Reviewers keep referring to the XH line as the "workhorse" flagship line of the Fuji X eco system and as someone who loves the art of photography, I prefer to tell my stories one frame at a time. I still find the XT series more of a workhorse for me. And man are they fun to shoot. 🙂

As a X-T2 (and X-E3) user the X-T5 looks great apart from the lack of a battery grip option. This makes me angry - why the didn't Fuji give users the option of a battery grip?!!! That may be a deal breaker for me. I could go for the X-H2 instead but the problem with that is that the dials and controls are not to my taste.

I love the X-T5 for the higher resolution, which makes cropping more useful. I like the high performance autofocus and the Haptics. A battery grip with an additional shutter release button would have been nice but it's not a drama for me. If it had been up to me, video could have been left out completely. I don't need video in a still camera. If I ever want to make a video, I use my iPhone 13.

I personally love the photo centric point of this camera, and while I would have appreciated more specifically the extra battery capacity of a vertical grip, it is not make or break for me, my XPro2 does not have the grip, and I do love the arca Swiss grip I have on both my XPro2 and my XE3. But for those people that need that, XH2/2s is the way they will want to go. I am primarily a photographer, and I dabble in video, so like Evelyn, I think this is a solid upgrade for me. My XPro2 is starting to get quirky, so this may replace that for me. T’oya̱xsut’nüüsm (thank you all) for putting this together, great video as always.

I feel they should call this as X-T5R and keep X-T5 for later. Crop factor for video is extra 1.23 which means 1.53 x 1.23 = 1.88 or 1.9. Micro 4/3 sensor has crop factor of 2.0. This kind of video spec does not match X-T4. Like Sony a7R IV, we could accept lower video quality because of higer pixel numbers, but with different model number lines only.

No battery grip makes no difference to me. I am really not yet sold on ibis as a must for photography, I guess I take photos of things that need a fast enough shutter speed to avoid motion blur that camera shake is never an issue. and when I use a slow shutter speed, it is so slow a tripod is required, but I'd rather have ibis than not. For the limited video work I do with the X-T3 I use a gimbal so not having to carry the gimbal with the X-T5 will be a plus (although i have no intention of getting rid of the X-T3). Looking forward to seeing the difference the 40MP makes and if the auto focus is a little better (not that it is bad now) and whether I can tell the difference on 18" x 12" prints between the XT3 and XT5 at a normal viewing distance. I shoot WIFI Tethered and as i don't shoot at 20 FPS, the raw transfer is not to slow, and the files are waiting for me when i get to computer, I'm hoping that the 40MP raw file sizes are still workable on WIFI Tethered and not too much waiting for the files to transfer

No Dave, you're not being too particular about the grip. Without the grip the camera won't balance well with the longer lenses or the XF 200 (yes I am one of the few that are lucky enough to own it!). It appears to me that with the 40mp this camera is geared to landscape, etc. The noise will be too high for shooting sports not to mention that you don't want to do a burst containing all 40mp files! I'll stick with the X-T4 (fun) and the H2S (sports)

No battery grip, no problem. I like the light weight of the Fuji camera body and never use a grip with it. I do not like the screen on X-t4. X-t5 focuses on photography first, and it's definitely a good upgrade from X-t3.

Glad to hear that someone else is a bit annoyed about the lack of a BG. That said, I will be picking up the ‘5’. I will keep my ‘3’ with it’s BG for shooting with telescoping, essentially with the 150-600mm. Hopefully Fuji will re-think the whole BG issue for the ‘6’….if there is an ‘6’.

Excuse me, your x-t5 camera, after the cover of the sd card is closed, is there any problem with the tightness? When you press the outer cover of the sd card, the outer cover will be elastic, a little not tight, and there is a tolerance. Do you have it? what about this situation? thanks

This is what a "Mark II" should actually be like, if this was the x-t3 mark II. Shame for the lack of a grip. If it was a production issue they could have made it retro compatible with the x-t4 one. But it's alright I guess

curious to know at what aperture images will start looking softer/unsharp due to diffraction, all these pixels on such a small sensor will probably suffer from diffraction from as soon as f/8 f/9

No battery grip = NO SALE!!! I photograph sports, portraits & candid assignments. I will continue to use both of my X-T3 cameras to do so. IMHO, FUJI has “CRIPPLED” this camera despite the new features & “upgrades” associated with it. I believe that FUJI has embraced the CANON buisness model in “up” selling their customers in an attempt to entice them to buy into their more expensive camera options, ie. X-H2 & X-H2S. What a shame!!!☹️☹️☹️😡😡😡
