Only 3 marathons under his name...This is the only guy who was going to run a sub 2hr marathon...RIP
@joelmacinnes23913 ай бұрын
So far he's the only one who had the discipline and lack of caution to run so well, I'd imagine he will have inspired other elites to take up a similar plan but I doubt any will be as good as he was, I don't know if we'll see the 2hr barrier fall until another generational freak appears which may not happen in the next 100 years, to think in 10 months he came from nowhere and, aged 23, shattered the supposedly untouchable record of Kipchoge and threw down 3 of the 6 sub 2.02 marathons dropping the entire field in the process each time - even he said he wasn't sure he could shave these 36 seconds from his time but I think he was just being humble, he'd not ran in Berlin and he had 10 years to improve on only his 3rd marathon - this could well be the final marathon world record of our lifetimes

Useless interviewer talking about his 2.05 in Valencia, fckin what 2.05, this man didn't run 2.05 anywhere, he would've run 2.05 in his sleep

Commentators here were awful. The commentating on Kiptum finishing was an absolute joke
@Dycstern3 ай бұрын
Absolutely thought the same! 🙌 Obviously not sports persons/runners themselves. No enthusiasm for running, no sports spirit, giving almost no background information. "Kipchoge, I'm sure, is watching anxiously"?! Has this commentator ever watched an interview with the GOAT? 🤦♀️

The coverage was terrible!! I get that Kiptum broke the record and NBC wanted to cover it, but we could've had more footage of the American runners, men and women. Terrible coverage, NBC.

I don't think Kiptum even had 40 minutes of screen time, and Kipruto didn't show up once despite setting a PB and finishing 2nd as defending champion - totally ridiculous
