One of those pure fun childhood games, it's definitively rough sometimes but that really doesn't matter with a game about shooting missiles to explode other cars while jumping from buildings.

This was one of my childhood favorites, definitely had its flaws and it was real difficult to play for my 8 year old brain back then but so many good memories from playing arcade mode split screen with my dad and other buddies. Unfortunately my PS3 YLOD'd a few years ago and i havent been able to play the game for a long time now. Thanks for the nostalgia!

I miss the days when new games were exciting and unbelievable, developers were like wizards doing amazing things on limited hardware. Now computing is exponentially more powerful and basically unlimited, and games are lazier and more boring than ever, smh. But hey maybe if we get enough attention, some wizards could get the online working again? The reason they made the 2 games only for a single system is probably budget constraints.

Awesome review and an accurate one at that. It's a real shame that the Full Auto series is so underrated since most people don't really talk about it much nor were they even aware of the first game's existence; including the sequel as well. I'm afraid that the Full Auto series game has been overshadowed by many other games of similar categories and titles too. I used to play the first one when I was in the third and fourth grade borrowing my cousin's Xbox 360 and those were definitely good times. To be honest, I never knew of Full Auto 2's existence at all and I feel sorta guilty about it because I never knew or thought that a sequel would be made at the time, but it reminds me of Burnout, Flatout, Wreckfest, and even the Shockwave games Burning Rubber 3, 4, and 5.

They definitely re-used courses from the first game. Saw several familiar locations in this video. Before Pseudo Interactive closed they were working on a Carmageddon-inspired game called Crude Awakening, but it was cancelled early in development. Would have been interesting to see how that one could have turned out. Full Auto with pedestrians? Yes please!

picked this one up mostly on this videos recommendation, and because i remember seeing pre release trailers for the first game back in the day and always wanting to check it out but somehow never getting a chance to. Its a pretty game from the little of it i've played so far, but the one thing you absolutely have to do if you are going to play on a real ps3 (as opposed to emulation) is to disable 1080i/1080p video output on the systems display menu, otherwise the games performance will be completely unplayable (im talking what feels like 15-20fps) once i did that i noticed the game runs at a mostly smooth 30fps (at 720p, presumably 480p would run even better but i didn't want to take such a severe hit to video quality) might want to pin this comment so people are aware of this going into it

I'd suggest giving Ridge Racer Unbounded a go. Just forget that it had the Ridge Racer brand (it's made by Bugbear). *It's like Burnout crossed with Split/Second with an emphasis on drifting* - very underrated and extremely fun. Last gen lacked good arcade racing games so I went back and gave Unbounded a go, and was kind of annoyed that Ridge Racer fans made everyone think that it's bad.
@MegaRayland10 ай бұрын
They didn’t make people think “it was bad”. They simply made them think it was a bad Ridge Racer game, which it was. The issue was either slapping the license to the game, having a Western dev work on RR, or copying trends of the time for a RR game. Unbounded was about chaos. Ridge Racer is about control and precision. Had Bugbear worked on Burnout sequel Unbounded would have been a hit. With that said, in terms of design for a Ridge Racer game, they did something that would have been incredible for it: the track creator. Can you imagine a true RR game with a track creator? Innounded was a good, fun game. Just not a good Ridge Racer game.

I would like to try these games sometime. It is weird that the first game was exclusive to the 360, while this one is exclusive to PlayStation systems, but believe it or not it's not the first time a game was exclusive to Xbox and the sequel is exclusive to PlayStation. I can't remember the name of it, but there's an Action RPG game that came out only on the original Xbox, but the sequel came out only on PS2.

If I recall correctly (its been i while since i saw gamer alex's retrospective on full auto) The reason why 2 didnt come to xbox 360 and 2 is more and better optimized is all because of deadlines and time constrains. Even more, all additions of battlelines (2) was ment to be in full auto one. again, im going off of memory here so i might be lying.

It is weird that Full Auto 2 didn't come to 360. I remember seeing early previews of 1 that stated the game was for both Xbox 360 and PS3 but the game ended up being finished months before the PS3 launched. Perhaps Sega didn't want to release a sequel on 360 within a year of its predecessor.

The fact that this game only had a few months of development is also explains some rehash levels. If it had a few more months of development it could have bene on both platforms and even more differences in levels as well as even more extra content.

So i´m just wondering, but did the first Game so well that it managed to get an Sequel? I don´t say it´s a bad Game, since i´ve never played any of these 2 Games. But somehow not many people remember about these. So i´m wondering how it even manages to get a Sequel.
@MegaRayland10 ай бұрын
No always you need to see a sequel as a result of the first game’s numbers but rather as a way to get around an exclusivity contract. Full Auto was an Xbox exclusive. Sega, of course, was a multi-platform developer. Having presence at the launch of a new console, specially with a product you already created, is ideal to make more money from it. So, releasing an updated version of the same game as a sequel, with additions to justify the full price, helped with this. Since Full Auto was an Xbox exclusive (the specific game, not the IP) then merely creating a sequel allowed them to circumvent the deal. And don’t get me wrong: there is nothing nefarious about it. Sega owned the IP and Xbox only had exclusivity over the first game and not the series. The same happened with Ridge Racer 6 and 7: RR6 was an Xbox 360 exclusive, but for PS3’s launch Namco created RR7 which was a much updated, improved, and refined version of RR6. Doing this allowed companies to focus resources on developing a single game rather than splitting teams for individual projects for each console. Specially in the early days of Xbox 360 and PS3, when the hardware was new and the user base for each was smaller and thus the amount of units sold would have been smaller too, it was a good way of sharing the cost.

I have to say that i was terrible disappointed in this game, i adore the first, in fact just got done playin a round, the problem with this one is all the destruction physics feels watered down and all disappears way too fast. Xbox did it way, way better. Best thing about the sequel is weapon customization, thats it.
