The problem is the Left is not "peaceably" protesting. Smashing windows, hitting people over the head with objects, physically blocking people from attending events, and in some cases threatening and beating people is not "peaceable". And then their representatives are up here preaching about how stickers and bananas hurt them oh so much.......... The actions are not even in the same ball park. I'm sorry you have to see a sticker that offends you *rolls eyes*. Meanwhile people are getting bludgeoned in the head with objects because another student disagrees with them. Then throw in the fact that some campus police do nothing to protect the rights of some students to attend an event peaceably (even while they're under attack), and this becomes a huge problem. Protecting "some students" right to protest and freely assemble and not other students is monumentally unjust -- and in most cases it is also morally reprehensible (i.e. showing favoritism).

@@Birthdaycakesmom I think that “supremist” and “supremacist” mean the same thing. I’m just more used to hearing “supremacist.” But in answer to your question about how to talk specifically about the KKK, why not say “the KKK”?
@Birthdaycakesmom3 жыл бұрын
@@daerdevvyl4314 this is going to go so deep because the possibilities are endless as to what you are referring to...that’s a good point- just say KKK, but I think with what I am trying to say is that the words white supremacist, because it includes a salient image that we all recognize, aka the KKK, it drives a point home about the nature of supremacy in this country. When someone says white supremacist, I don’t think there are only whites supremacist groups, but my familiarity with that term creates a stronger response. I also think the nature of supremacist groups should be considered- more white people, longer history, means that the white supremacist groups are stronger and possess a more immediate threat. I think that translates into why it is more pertinent and captivating to say white supremacist groups. We all already know what we are referring to, and any non-white supremacist groups, they are less familiar and while they possess similar attributes, at least as far as race-based supremacist groups, their reasons for existing are entirely different and how they function are different. Do they have other names which are better, for example? Do they target college campuses the same way? Are they the same enough that we can really use the same exact word? I’m more for increasing language rather than spreading a word too thin. A Spanish supremacist group really doesn’t fit supremacist group as an organized entity, just because it engages in something similar and recognizable. It’s intentions are different and it’s goals are different and why it exists is different. Specifically Spanish issues for creating a supremacist group should be what characterizes them. It just isn’t the same...

To think this was durning President Trump’s four year term, and then the Democrats got orange man on the brain and all logical, intelligent thoughts evaporated. When I hear KKK (i know Ben wants to remind the Democratic Party) that both the KKK and Antifa are both the violent arm of the Democrats. It’s amazing how much history many don’t know and academia chooses to omit, like the Republcan Party in the great state of Texas was started by seven highlybeducated Black Americans. There’s also the fact 1/3 of plantation owners in New Orlean’s were black/brown (many from the Islands) plus the Barberiie Wars fought to free over a million young white slaves. There’s so much history and knowlexge they’d just soon forget because it doesn’t fit their crazy theories. That’s why it’s so important to study all the history, I enjoy Thomas Sowell because first he’s one of the most intellegent gentleman I heard or read and he has the true experience regarding seeing how society shaped out as he was growing up. There’s so much more wonderful history that our children should be learning and as was so wonderful stated in a two parent home whenever possible, the national school system has been a total failure in more ways than just education, the CDC hasn’t released the suicide ratios in three years now. Homeschooling and all the follow-up testing ie: SAT along with psycoloical tests are tremendously higher than public schools. Private and private Christian school are doing well also but parents have to be certain CRT, Gender Theory and other nonsense aren’t being taught. groups of families in areas are getting together to teach several 5-10 children at one time, some are teaching certain classes, one will do all the teacg Hing with anotg assisting and then some have hired teachers who disagreed witg the nonsense tge scools were pushing i cluding forcing the vaccine and mask on child with a parent or parents taking turns to assist. They also do extri-cirricular activities like sports, dancing, theater and field trips. Please forgive all my grammatical errors, i have (MS) so between the blurry/double vision plus my thouvhts don’t always make sense. I have run on sentences much more now as well. My New York State political history prof would mark my work with little comments. " A+, I hate you (-:" I often felt frustrated that the younger students would just accept what ever opinion that came out of the mouth of the educators. I have an open mind, and welcome debate. I do not, and will not be silenced by opposing voices though it may cause discomfort. I also do not just hang out with people who are like minded. Why is nobody talking about the political shift in hiring? Why is nobody talking about how the ratio in 1996 was 2 Democrat to 1 Republican professor, and now its closer to 10:1 Democrat to Republican? Why is nobody talking about the 22:1 Democrat to Republic in the Social Sciences and Humanities? Why is nobody talking about how 21% of humanities teachers are activists themselves, 20% are radicals, and 18% self-identify as Marxists? Why? How are administrations allowed to promote every kind of diversity under the sun whilst simultaneously ACTIVELY reducing intellectual diversity? Why is nobody talking about how only 10% of university Anti-discrimination statements defend intellectual minorities? Why?

Mr. Shapiro. I know it's a horribly, idk, feces-laden? job, but I would throw myself behind your candidacy for POTUS; including fund-raising efforts. You should consider running for President. It would be a first. The first _eloquent_ POTUS, although; the case might be made for Reagan. He'd still be a distant second, _IMHO._ You've still got the time. _I hope._

1:06:39 Campus police. Why are college campuses designated special zones, where “campus” police are employed by and directly answer to college administrators? Speaking for the college I attended and its campus police, the police officers that make up the police force are sworn police officers licensed by the state, they have their own police chief, and call themselves Uxx Police Department. Off the top of my head I don’t know of any other places where the police isn’t accountable to the city/county/state/federal first and foremost and by extension to its residents/citizens. It may not be a great analogy, but as far as I can tell campus police resemble private military companies. Both of them answer to their chief or boss and as a distant second are accountable to the local laws. Had the police presence at Ben Shapiro’s event been directly contracted from the local police department, I think the police officers’ options would have included a third or fourth option, instead of only having the option to shut down the event or do nothing and wait for the protesters to leave. I think the current situation where campus police is more akin to private security (with the backing of the state) who are at the beck and call of campus administration is a threat to free speech and should be changed. College campuses who desire to have a police presence on their campuses should be forced to contract with their local police department instead of allowing them to have their own private security.

I would have to disagree with Mr. Colella on one point, these young people on college campuses are not children, but adults. This means that they should be held to that standard.
