Why are hardworking Filipinos actors ignored in their homeland, but are suddenly praised and claimed when their hard work is acknowledged by other countries (instead of romcom couples). Now that Ms De Leon has done her international awards run, suddenly everyone in the Philippines is rooting for her. Where was the love when she was a working actress there?

The Oscars is a social club of Hollywood. It is incestuous (no pun intended) meaning they reward each others’ friends. On rare occasions it admits an unknown in order to perpetuate the Cinderella dream. Give it time Dolly, you are now a new member so just work. Glenn Close never won an Oscar, George C. Scott refused an Oscar, one of the best films ever The Color Purple was snubbed though nominated multiple times. It’s not about the statue, it’s your legacy on film is the reward. Award shows are just that, awards. You did not need an Oscar to land that Triangle job in the first place.

In response to Karen’s thoughts on blacks fighting for recognition, I really think what matters is not demanding recognition, it is about the work itself. Demanding for nominations and awards is nothing buy an affirmative action tactic where talent takes a back seat behind color recognition. Again, what matters is the work and finished product, not any awards or nominations. That’s like Filipinos or Asians demanding to be in the NBA dominated by blacks because they are that good then admitting Asians just to show the NBA is practicing racial fairness. The best talents should be the determining factor rather than race or color just like what Martin Luther King said.

International stardom nman talaga. hello maging toast of the Cannes film festival is ibang level yun. tapos manominate sa Golden Globes that is Truly a once in a lifetime experience. It is international stardom, Satellite Awards, Golden Globe, BAFTA, Cannes, she recently won the Swedish-equivalent of Oscar Awards in Sweden for Best Supporting Actress. Masyado expectation ng Pinoy sa phrase na "stardom" eh ang meaning naman talaga niyan ay "exceptionally talented", eh yon naman talaga si Ms. Dolly De Leon.

Okay lang yon naman ang mangyayari talaga pero the nomination will give her career boost in Hollywood. Actors and actresses nominated in any Top 3 awards (Golden Globe, BAFTA, Oscars) enjoys a percentage boost in talent fee than those who weren't nominated. Yon ang habol nila, nominations man lang kasi parang promotion level yon sa mga artista.

Ang panget mag interview ni Karen always sumasabat inuungusan niya yung ini interview niya. Mas marami pa syang input kaysa sa ini interview niya. Hindi pa niya pinapatapos yung guest sumasabat na. Unprofessional.
