The problem with this whole series is that it's set up in advance. . . the things people are going to say and what they're going to do. There is no way that the cameraman just happened to be there when the McCoys were crossing into Hatfield land and the two families interacted. They are following a script, like all reality tv shows.

I am 6th generation Appalachian and we are not like these folks. Most of us prefer are peace and quiet but they are all full of hate, on both sides and want to make their home a tourist attraction. Not us, we don’t want any tourists. We love the land and will protect it.

I'm a 56 year old 8th generation Hatfield. If you want the truth ask me. I've lived the Hatfield life. And the truth is the Hatfields and McCoys are all related. I had 2 great uncles and a great aunt named McCoy. They were my Papaw Hatfields half brothers and sister. I was raised in the 60s and 70s in the hollers of West Virginia and Southern Ohio.

I live almost in the middle of this area. They are advertising the Hatfield and McCoy trail ride along with businesses and attractions that are attached to it.

I agree. But these tiny ass road side towns in bumfuck nowhere are probably 60-70 years behind in social shit. They didn't even have black people in the area back in the Civil War and post war days. Hell I think Latinos have moved in more these days. (I drive thru there a decent amount)

The Hatfields and McCoy's literally buried the hatchet after a tug of war over the Tug River decades ago. The feud is over, it's just these idiots pretending it's not. They need to seek therapy if they have anger towards each other over a feud that ended a hundred years ago. They are a joke, an insult to their ancestors, and need to learn their history.

This is interesting as a human interest story but the fact that Fox News reported this as if it were some sort of real feud and they were still fighting his laughable. Plus they need to tone down there hillbilly accents just a bit. I mean I was raised as a hillbilly, Northern hillbilly out west but still some of the dialogue was hard for even me to follow. I think if they toned it down just a little bit it would be more believable.

The show shows the world that they are dumb, that the people in the states are dumb, but they aren't. It's all for a quick buck, and it's sad this is what has come of the Hatfield and McCoy's. There are far better shows about the Hatfield and McCoy's that could have been made instead of this. It would be nice to have a show about, a McCoy or Hatfield getting married together. Oh wait that happens all the time. No one cares about the feud anymore unless you want to make money off the trails. Or this garbage show.
