I just finished pulling a 5k profit on my sim account after 10 days of trading and want to try my hand getting funded for 50k using your trade day link. Quick question, are the position limits 5 for the day, or 5 positions open at any given time?

Great video. Thank you. I'm an experienced trader. I understand margin and leverage. What I don't understand is the mechanics of selecting and entering futures trades. It would be great if you went step by step in a demo account and showed how to setup a futures montage. Contract selection and order entry. Basically a demo trade with all the details and specifics.

I’ve been trading options for years and just picking up futures again for the 3rd time. I think it’s superior in many ways, except unlike options, you have to be very careful with risk size. Options you can swing for the fences and wait - no chance of getting margin called.. totally different mindset. My first futures trading account was blown when I went full tilt and boy did I learn fast. Different animal. Still an animal.

Curious question from a beginner. in the event of red news i understand not placing a position because it could blow up horribly. But what about something like a limit order with a stop loss you can handle and a much higher take profit? In my head this sets up a situation where it is a gamble, but with a small potential loss and a high potential gain? I imagine i'm dead wrong though haha.

thanks for the video. I'm sure you already know this but when you "trade for a prop firm" it's just a simulation. The profit you get comes from the money of those who don't pass the evaluation. The percentage of those who pass this phase and manage to keep the account and get paid consistently is close to 0%. Also, most of these prop firms make you believe you are trading a big account (i.e. 100k) when in reality, if you consider the max drawdown which is usually close to 5%, you are in fact trading something similar to a 5k account. That considered, wouldn't it be better to trade your own money? I'd like to hear your opinion on this. Thanks, keep on making good vids

Not with TradeDay, that’s part of why I only support them. You have an option to go straight to the live account or to a sim account (only for the first 5k in profit, then you have to go to a live account)

@@ImanTrading Why would anyone choose the live account from the start instead of the sim account? To me using my own money for live might give me a better idea because I don't trust sim accounts for learning how to trade when the broker can't get paid offering it.

What are the intraday trading margins for NQ and MNQ. If I want to open up a new position at, say, 8:00PM ET in MNQ, I will need to meet the initial margin or day margin minimum?

I tried futures last month for the first time. I played with 1k account. Made it up to 2k and gave it all back plus blowing my account lol. I did a horrible job with risk management. I think I’m having a hard time setting proper stoploss on tradovate. I would guess my stop loss near critical levels and not knowing how much I would lose if the stop loss gets triggered. I like the hard stop loss feature vs mental stop loss with options. I need to figure this risk management out and hope to properly set stop loss. Although I blew my account I was more at ease trading futures so I will do some more practice on the paper account.

Great video Iman! How does the Prop Firm connect to Ninja Trader or TOS? Do you need to have both the Prop Firm account and a separate NT account to be able to trade with the Prop Firms?

Thanks! When you sign up with a firm, you’ll typically use that same login on NinjaTrader. You just have to follow the steps once you sign up, and it’ll only take a few minutes to get situated.

Glad you made this video. It's funny you bring up taxes about the Futures markets cuz I was just looking videos about that it other day. I'm currently paper trading Futures to get familiar with it.... swing trade. That's my strong point versus intraday. I would like to create a KZfaq channel, someday, having live trading sessions as a Swing Trader any advice?

Thank you. For KZfaq advice, you have to be entertaining, informative, or ideally both. If you’re not bringing something new to this space, then you need to do what people are already doing but better. That’s how it works with any channel. You should do it only if you enjoy the whole process too, otherwise you’ll get burned out and unmotivated. This channel started with uploading my live trades to hold myself accountable. The idea wasn’t to become a KZfaqr. That sort of accidentally happened after the supply and demand guide I made for myself as a teaching presentation caught the KZfaq algorithm and blew my channel up.

Cash accounts in stocks still limit your ability to trade whenever you want, when you only have a small account or limited funds to work with while waiting for it all to settle. Even if you split funds, it's still limits you to low trades, not good for scalpers. GFVs and PDTs only keep the average man down, IMO. With futures or Crypto, you can trade as many times as you want, scalping all day, not worrying and sweating about U.S gov's GFVs and PDTs that rich higher up people don't ever have to worry about.
