I think people need to get comfortable with the idea that women don't wake up and think about you or your kids when getting dressed. And nudity may not be sexy to you and that's okay, but you need to stop expecting people to accommodate you and your discomfort, especially regarding their bodies and in a public space nogal.

Monogamy "is natural for a man" that has a husband's mindset. So, if the guy you're interested in "is not monogamous," then you shouldn't marry him. Because if you do, "you're excepting his terms for marriage" and ignoring your own terms. I say, pick someone that "generally" thinks like you, based on your basic non-negotiable partner traits. Furthermore, if you have "stinking thinking'" then you should change your mind before you get married. That said Monogamy and Marriage go together like M&Ms. But Promiscuity usually pairs up with Heartbreak.

Is Monogamy a Myth ------------- We’ve had this conversation before about works best for people...now the situation at hand I can’t speak on cuz I’m not apart of their union... but I would say it depends on the couple... if you know your partner as well as yourself are capable of having wandering eyes and act out on their emotions and sexual tensions toward other people outside of your marriage and you have NO ISSUE with it and y’all have a mutual agreement to do whatever as long as you respect the home and do what you have to do to keep going them do so! But for me... I’m not staying in a marriage where someone has the capability of being with someone else and then being out and about with no care of being seen with the other person... that doesn’t sit well with me or my spirit! But that’s ME... others feel differently! If you choose to have a monogamous , polygamous or whatever relationship...t hat is up to you and your partner! Airplane Attire ----------- appreciate the captains approach... he decided to simply be kind and joke a bit to make the situation light hearted and not have things get heated...and I actually thought the gesture he did with the sweatshirt was very sweet! I just think in any kind of situation just to avoid situations like this... just dress a little more appropriately... this is an airplane , germs are on the plane , it is very cold on the plane and sometimes being comfortable is better than being cute... I’m all about dressing to impress and feeling yourself but this case was a bit much... do I think they should have examples of what lewd, obscene, and etc looks like instead of just rolling up to a person before they go to their seat!

I disagree. Very few animals ‘mate’/have sex recreationally. They mate during mating season and that’s it till the next year or w/e. Humans be getting it on all year round, maybe if you ‘mated’ with your man/woman for two weeks a year things would stay ‘exciting’. What bothers me is that those that prefer to be non monogamous tells us not to judge them for wanting to be that way while at the same time, they still judge us for preferring to be monogamous. Let's speak the real truth here. This was not about this ladies clothing. It's about other people being intimidated with the ethic females body . If she had been a non ethnic women, with the same attire on and no curves. I don't think it would have been an issue. It's a major double standard that needs to be addressed. A sexy body is not a disgrace, its beauty.

Jennie has a point, if that shirt was worn on a women with smaller breast there probably wouldn't have been a problem, and it comes back to the question of how we normalize different body shapes in different clothes. Same way Adrienne was allowed to wear her small dress, put that on a bigger girl (chest, bottom, anything tbh) and watch her get stopped. Ive seen this so much and its honestly subjective which gives power to bias. Just one way of looking at it...

The two that said they wouldn't have a problem with someone dressed like that sitting next to their husband or son are LYYIIINNNGGGG!! 😅🙄🙄 Garcelle was saying like it is. I would absolutely have a problem. There is nothing wrong with what she wore....to a beach/pool party/some clubs or whatever. But on a plane where there are grown folk and kids for that matter...nah sis, do better. Every where you go, there is an appropriate attire. Like Garcelle said, be presentable, represent yourself well with appropriate attire for where you are going. At the end of the day this has taught us to read what's acceptable and not acceptable on planes 😅.

I know plenty of morally corrupt monogamous people. Also, people who think monogamy is the key ingredient to marriage will stay in physically, emotionally, financially, and verbally abusive marriages just as long as he/she is not cheating.

I feel like the comments on "why get married then?" were a little narrow-minded. And honestly, it seemed like it came from a very conservative/traditional, even religious definition of marriage. The truth is, all that marriage does is provide a legal definition and rights in a relationship between 2 partners. But the agreement behind that legal contract is up to the people entering into it - that could mean polyamory, or maybe just polygamy, or it could literally just be a financial or child-rearing based agreement. We don't know what these two people decided on, so we can't necessarily judge them.
@CM-uq8ro
@CM-uq8ro 3 жыл бұрын
Event he religious argument is weak. I'm genuinely curious where the push toward monogamy started. It certainly wasn't in the Bible. Most of the people in the Bible were polygamous. No where in the Bible does it condone monogamy or condemn polygamy. It only says don't take on more wives than you can afford.

@@CM-uq8ro the Bible does not condone polygamy. No where in the Bible is it “acceptable”. People in the Bible did it, the same way they killed, cheated and stole- and the Bible acknowledges that they exist, but the Bible insists on multiple occasions “one man and one wife”. From the very first couple in the Bible, God did not give Adam multiple wives. Every man who married more than 1 wife, messed things up in the Bible.

I think the ladies perspective on marriage was very traditional & slightly narrow minded but valid. I just wish they acknowledged the validity in other commitment types. like open, free, & other non-monogamous relationships. I feel like the idea of marriage is commitment, to another person in whatever relationship style you both agree to adhere to. For some thats monogamy for others it’s not and that doesn’t make a relationship or marriage any less valid.

They don’t have to acknowledge something they don’t believe in. If I don’t believe in polygamy- then I will not condone or acknowledge those marriages as “valid”. even the law doesn’t recognize polygamy In the US, so why should they?

As humans we work off logic, not instincts. "Is monogomy natural" is a weird question. Women definitely have the capability of cheating especially if she is emotionally neglected and feel unloved but it takes a strong minded person to say "No, I won't do this!" For me... I won't cheat because not only is it a sin, it's disgusting. You will have a blemished reputation and no Future person will trust you in a marriage. My husband and I have had many bad days and temptation is always there but my image before God and my reputation means much more to me. Anybody can do wrong, it's actually natural for us to do wrong but you have to choose to do right and that takes a strong minded person.

These conversations feel so narrow minded now that I've learned more and met different kinds of people. IF the answer really is 'to each to their own', marriage shouldn't be something that prevents you from having other relationships if you so chose to. (And I'm not talking about the strict christian view point, although there are variations there as well.) Monogamy scientifically speaking is NOT out natural disposition.

Marriage is a legal document, that's it. What you decide to do outside of what's on that piece of paper is up to you and your partner! People get married so that they have legal rights to see each other in the hospital, make financial decisions on behalf of each other, etc. The relationship aspect of marriage should be whatever works for you.
