I appreciate the slow passes. Passing cyclists/slower PEVs on a respectable speed is one of the things we can do to get people off our backs especially when we take the bike lanes

I couldn't agree more. As an avid cyclist, I know I have the "skills" to pass at a high rate of speed, and to me it won't really feel like a big deal... but I know for a slower pedestrian/vehicle it can feel quite dangerous.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel @GoobyPies ! I 1000000% agree with you. These are little things that we can all do to help improve the image of the PEV community. There's absolutely no need to blast by someone at 50mph in the bike lane. It's dangerous for everyone. The last thing we need is the media portraying us as reckless idiots that kill pedestrians in addition to the fires.

Thanks for watching the video! 10000000% agree with you. Especially in the city, the bike lanes are sorry excuses for rideable space. I feel like it's an accident waiting to happen with all the obstacles that are trying to kill you. I tend to use the bike lanes more in my videos because it allows me to cruise at a slower speed while talking. It's quite hard to ride fast in traffic and talk at the same time lol.
@jayoli7073

The street is so much safer than the bike lane. There are tons of amateurs in the bike lane, especially Citibikers. Having the Burn E gives you substantial power and ability to keep up with traffic safely and evade potential traffic dangers.
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
@@jayoli7073 100000% correct. Having instant torque and having that kind of stopping power allows you to avoid alot of the sketchy situations while riding with traffic. Unfortunately, there aren't as many escape routes in the bike lanes so it literally feels like a deathtrap even at lower speeds

You're welcome and thanks for watching the video! You're absolutely correct, alternative transportation is the only way to get around the city in a reasonable amount of time nowadays. It's even faster than public transportation. The other day it took me 90 minutes to get home from midtown because the trains were a mess... thats a 20 minute commute for me on any of my PEVs!

@@eyebahnrides A lot more fun too! Whether in a car, motorcycle, scooter, whatever, I frequently find myself turning my commute into a racetrack and sometimes against the clock, lol! LOL you know how we do when we gotta get to work on time. I wasn't planning on recording that day because we had thunderstorms in the forecast, but plans changed when I saw the sun. I usually leave a little earlier to record but I couldn't let the opportunity pass because the weather has been so erratic this past month. I hope things settle down in the city a bit so that you can get yourself a PEV again. Honestly, things are so stressful with these fires. The only way we can avoid it is to buy a house lol. Yepppp, despite all the BS of the roads it's still less stressful than getting jumped on the train while sweating your ass because the AC is broken in every subway car. When you step out on the the platform to wait for the next train, its 45 min away and its even hotter on the platform lol. Actually.... you just gave me an Idea... I may do a commute where I take the train instead... lol As always, I appreciate the support!

If you have a second, I would recommend bringing the scooter to the shop and have Ed or one of the guys look it over real quick. Better to be safe. Thanks man, I'll do my best to stay safe out there. Hi Kevin, thanks for watching this video! This route was a lot of fun and I hope I can ride my other PEVs on this one. I've done those more personal life stories in my Ride Vlog Series but based on the analytics (viewer retention, views, and feedback) it seemed that folks weren't really into it. I do want to explore vlogging and talking more about my life and what's going on in the future, but I kind of have it on the back self for now along with a few other series I had in mind. Since my work schedule is pretty insane, I can only make one video per week. Hopefully in the future, as the channel becomes more successful, it will allow me the freedom to make more content for the channel! How long have you owned the Burn-E? Have you had any issues with reliability or structural integrity?
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
Hi Shane, thanks for watching the video! I've had the Burn-E for almost 3000 miles and almost 2 years now. Outside of routine maintenance and flats/broken rims that were my fault, the scooter has been the most reliable PEV I've owned. I saw that people were having issues with their scooter's aluminum steering column, but I also question how they were using their scooter. About 500 miles ago, I ordered a few upgrades to my scooter directly from Michael Sha. Steel steering column, stiffer suspension, a new display, the NFC key, and charging covers. Since those were installed, she feels like new! As you can tell, commuting through the city is quite hard on my scooter. So that means I'm quite diligent about maintenance. Also, I don't abuse and trash the scooter. I treat it with respect because at the end of the day it's not a toy, it's a high performance vehicle.

Thanks for watching the video! The thumb throttle was just ok for me. I purchased this throttle from a local shop here in NYC and had them install it. It’s called a “Polish Throttle”. I believe you can order it online directly from the manufacturer. You can go into the official Nami FB group and search for it. Some of the nami distributors in the EU posted the link. It’s an excellent throttle. It’s quite sensitive, but it gives you amazing control over the scooter once you get used to it. It also gives you better hand ergonomics because you can hold on to the handlebars better. I hope this helps!

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel @SuperAenema . The throttle I use is nicknamed "Polish Throttle". If you're in the official Nami group on FB, type that in and it'll bring it up. It takes some getting used to because it can be quite sensitive, but it's hard to go back to anything else once you're used to it! It gives you such fine control over the scooter that you can keep up with any form of traffic even if you leave it on X mode the whole time. I don't mind the thumb throttle, but I did get wrist fatigue like you because I was coming from the Kaabo scooters before. If you're in NYC, ask Chuck in FFR to see if he can get them for you. I actually bought it from him and had Ed (my guy at FFR BK) install it that same day. I hop ethis helps!

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Humbert. TBH, the whole Burn E (E2 Max) vs. WKGT comes down to a matter of preference. I don't like the styling of the Wolf scooters and I don't like how stiff the suspension is. The Nami may not be as easy to ride at higher speeds because you have to learn how to ride it to prevent the wobbles. However, it has a extremely comfortable ride feel and the power delivery buttery smooth. Plus, I LOVE the way the Burn E looks. The reason I say it comes down to preference is a WKGT owner, would probably tell you that its superior to the Nami in every category lol. I think they're both great scooters and suited for a different type of rider

So then I got another klima and still having the braking sensor problem it's annoying as hell lol. Hey Julian, thanks for watching this video as well. I think the brake sensor is only an issue with the first batch of Klimas. I never experienced it on my Burn E, my friends Burn E2 that I had for a week, and the Blast I just tried. From what I'm reading in the Nami group the brake sensor issue was resolved with all the current batch of Klimas. If you contact Michael Sha directly on FB or on here on KZfaq, I'm sure he can sort you out with all the parts that you need. I believe you need a new sensor and you could even ask for the mudgaurd that comes with the new Klimas

Hi Ivan, When you were on 1st ave did you find the street was smoother than the bike lane? I’m wondering why you chose to ride in the street rather than the bike lane.
@eyebahnrides
@eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the comments section! The first ave bike lane is a death trap lol. Not only are the road conditions absolutely horrendous, there's all types of construction, blockages, pedestrians, box trucks, animals, rats, citibikers, and delivery folks going the wrong way that it makes it difficult to move quickly. On the avenues in Manhattan, I generally feel safer with traffic than in the bike lanes. Keep in mind, I've felt this way even when I was riding my fixed gear and my road bike.

@@mansingw Yea, second ave can be relatively clear most of the day. But its a nightmare during rush hour. You get the added obstacle big money office workers jumping into the bike lane thinking that they won't get hit because they're the center of the universe lol. Check out my video where I was riding to the Electric Meet. I ended up taking the side streets to LES because I was so sick and tired of the Avenue lol.

Ivan, it says you’re in New York. I’m not sure if you live in New York but if you do, I’m sure you got connections. I’m having a hard time finding a 36 V. 20 ah ion lithium rechargeable battery 🔋 for my Jetson electric bike I really need it. I want to last longer times out there and everything way too much and I just can’t get this off of 15 miles an hour is it’s crazy. I am enjoying what I do have though and when I do get upgraded, I will, as for now I can afford a battery not the price nobody not even Alibaba not even Temu. Everything is real confusing and looks cheap but then when you go to check out the shipping fees cost like $100. I just don’t understand what’s going on I can’t get a battery, enjoy your ride. It would be nice to ride New York City the way you do not as fast as you do, but I would like to last long out there and I just can’t right now. If you can help me, please reply if you know anybody with a battery for sale of what I mentioned, I got $50 right now. Blessings. Enjoy your ride. I’m gonna enjoy watching your ride.

thanks for joining us on this ride Jason! Since I'm quite a respectful rider and I do my best to not be a jerk on the road, my interactions with law enforcement is minimal. Most of the time, we just end up chatting because they're curious about my ride and they let me know they appreciate the cool gear I have on. Other than that, I've never been pulled over for operating a PEV in NYC over the last 4 years. I did get stopped at a police check point when I used to ride my EUC. They were searching for illegal mopeds operating on the bike lanes and I got caught up in it. I got a ticket because they told me EUCs are illegal and told me "take the subway like a normal person"

59th street bridge is an absolute 💩show with all the pedestrians, construction workers, mopeds, pevs, and cyclists. Recently there's something new causing issues on the 59th St Bridge bike path. There's a person who lies down across the two bike lanes in hopes that you hit them... When I'm not recording, I usually take that bridge because it's the fastest way to work. Those 17 minutes from Sunnyside to midtown are some of the most stressful minutes of my day lol. If I were using that bridge at 12am, I probably wouldn't even use the path. I'd just blast across on the road with the cars.
