Seems a little clapped out! Very violent downshift at 0:45 caused a bit of wheelslip I heard
@ChilternTransportProductions3 жыл бұрын
How is it clapped out? I have had far worse at West of England like 66720 and 66937 Plus you’ve got those SF55s you keep moaning about, so you can’t talk about “clapped out” B7RLEs...

@@ChilternTransportProductions just the gearbox seems a bit rough, you can tell when it shifts sometimes as you can hear the wheelspin, suggesting it’s a bit shifting a bit harshly

@@NC-002 It literally only wheelspun once? That doesn’t mean anything! For all I know, that could have been something to do with the driver because we were trying to recover 25 mins lost time caused by clearing Taunton traffic

@@ChilternTransportProductions Looking forward to it! If you're ever in Suffolk one day I suggest you try the X7 from Ipswich to Old Felixstowe via the A14 which is allocated B7RLEs and ALX400 B7TLs!
@ChilternTransportProductions3 жыл бұрын
@@nathanw9770 Yeah but aren’t the B7RLEs on 77 and X7 AU58s? They’re the ones branded for Felixstowe Flyers Yeah, AU05s are Euro 3 but they’re not kickdown enabled though, that’s the thing. I’d have thought most ALX400/B7TLs do 88, maybe both 88 and X7. I don’t know First Ipswich that well
@nathanw97703 жыл бұрын
@@ChilternTransportProductions Yeah most of the X7s are AU58s but AU05s and ALXs do make uncommon appearances. I have caught 32489 and 32655 on it out of the 5 or 6 times I've been on the X7 and seen plenty more ALXs on it when I'm out and about in Ipswich. The ALX400s are normally allocated to the 66, 88 and the 89 but also often appear on the 64 and the 75. The 64 is a really good route too, has lots of hills on it. I thought the AU05s did have kickdown before but after hearing the one in the video I guess I'm wrong 😅! The B7TLs definitely do though.
@ChilternTransportProductions3 жыл бұрын
I would definitely go for the B7TLs if not B7RLEs too but as most of the First Ipswich fleet is Volvo, there’s probably not much else worth doing there. Will have research what the 75 and 89 are! The 66 encompasses a small busway section in Kesgrave, so are you saying the ALX400s are fitted with guide wheels for that?

Suddenly Taunton just got interesting again. Last time I was there I only noticed E200s.
@ChilternTransportProductions3 жыл бұрын
It was always interesting, Taunton had ALX400/Tridents and Pointer 2/Darts (which they still have) but now it’s even more interesting as they also have Eclipse 1/B7RLEs and President/Tridents that recently transferred from other regions Bridgwater also got a few Eclipse 1/B7RLEs and President/Tridents which can visit Taunton on the 21/21A along with their Solar/L94UBs
