I know. It's unbelievable. I miss those days. Even Messi and Neymar don't excite me the way that Ronaldo, ronaldinho, kafu, zidane, Henry did.. zidane actually has said many time in interviews that Ronaldo Nazario was the best player he's ever seen in his life because he always changed it up and was never predictable. So much power. Unfortunately medicine was not advanced enough that if your knee completely broke down you can restore yourself. They did not have knee surgeries as advanced as they do now

Zidane was amazing, but so was Lucio! Class defensive performance. Roberto Carlos went to sleep during the freekick. Cafu was past his prime and not offering anything on that wing. Vieira and Makelele had the midfield on lock so much so that Kaka and Ronaldinho couldn't get involved.

Anyway, this match was the final before the final because whoever won here, would've gone to the final. Brazil's attack on goal was like 15 on average which was the highest at that time. I watched every single game of the world cup on directv at the time.

Blaahh... Brazil won Copa América, Confederations Cup and got knocked out in quarter-finals in WC 2010 just like that year. They were favorites again to win the whole thing again and failed even playing better. Zidane was masterclass but he has nothing to do with current Brazil NT situation.

The last world cup that was stacked of superstars and brilliant encounters. It was perfect. After this the levels dropped massively. Brazil didn't give to the world the sale quality players they used to bring. France needed 12 years to come back.

Pereira made some mistakes as a manager. The team needed Rivaldo instead of Gilberto and Cicinho instead of Cafu from start to finish. After that world cup Dunga became a coach and destroyed the whole team then. In 2010 and 2014 they could had Ronaldinho and company, but they prefered Elano and Luis Fabiano...

Brazil avoided the midfield as much as possible for the entire game; they knew they had no chance of doing anything against Zidane. He basically took away a third of the pitch from Brazil.

Vou te responder agora... Nós não tivemos uma preparação legal, porque era muito assédio. Todo treinamento era 30, 40 mil pessoas assistindo o Parreira não conseguia trabalhar. Nós estavamos na contração, faltava 12 ou 14 dias pra estréia, o Ronaldo falou com o Parreira "A galera quer tomar uma cerveja, um vinho. Pode trazer aqui, a gente bebe aqui mesmo". Zagallo falou "Não, vamos concentrar pra copa do mundo." Ronaldo falou "Faltam alguns dias pro inicio, não é todo mundo que quer." Zagallo "Não fenomeno, não vamos mudar a programação..." Ronaldo bateu na mesa e disse "É mole? Eu com 100 milhoes de Euro no banco sentado aqui tendo que ouvir isso, eu vou embora daqui." e saiu andando, todo mundo olhando "100 milhões"? - Cicinho Como eu vou te explicar?! A gente até tentou fechar, mas a política não deixou, a confederação tinha vendido os direitos de transmissão dos treinos pra TV. Weggs em 3 semanas que a seleção ficou lá, tinha 150 mil pessoas. Virou uma preparação que pra um time que quer ganhar uma Copa do mundo não foi bem feita. E não foram jogos convincentes, primeiro jogo da croácia um gol do Kaká, Japão também batemos em morto. - Edmilson Eu sabia que não ia dar certo, eu fiquei na seleção 16 anos, eu conhecia o Parreira como a palma da minha mão, eu falei pra ele que não ia dar certo. - Cafu Eles pagarm pra ver os jogadores se alongando. Eu perguntei pro Parreira "Tá sabendo que tá sendo pago ingresso?" Ele respondeu é tá no contrato. Tivemos que engolir aquilo, que não foi nada proveitoso. 18 dias naquela bagunça, foi uma bagunça. Só prejudicou, quando fizemos a avaliação tinhamos 8 jogadores muito abaixo do nível, acima do peso... Bem acima! Inclusive que se não tivesse tão pouco tempo era pra ter jogador cortado. Começamosmuito abaixo, talvez chegassemos em um bom nivel na final. Deveriamos estar preparados desde o inicio. Só com milagre para deixar os jogadores em foram, não estamos falando de 2 ou 3 e sim de 8 ou 9. Roberto Carlos estava esgotado, tinha ficado duas partidas fora do Real. Jogou a temporada inteira. O que eu fazia com o grupo eu fazia metade com ele. Cafu vinha de uma cirurgia no joelho. Não tinha como fazer melhor. Passamos um mal momento contra Ghana, 20 minutos do primeiro tempo era pra estar 3 a 0 pra eles se não fosse o DIDA. - Moraci Sant' Anna (preparador físico e auxiliar técnico brasileiro.) O Ronaldinho Gaucho não tava no auge do Barcelona, o Ronaldo chegou na apresentação acima do peso. Tiveram alguns aspectos que aconteceram na preparação e no processo de Copa do mundo que tirou o foco e dificultou muito a nossa concentração dentro da competição. Ficamos na Suiça, você não tem noção no hotel... No hotel.. Se você não tiver um time em que todos estão com o mesmo foco, o mesmo pensamento, o mesmo objetivo. Não importa se você tem os melhores O resultado não vem. - Zé Roberto Podia ter chegado mais longe. A gente percebe, olhando pra trás a gente consegue enxergar vários erros. A gente ficou dias numa cidade que era evento todo dia, a gente treinando no meio da barulheira. A gente não conseguia se concentrar direito. Eu e a maioria dos jogadores chegaram a cima do peso. O ambiente estava conturbado, o planejamento foi cheio de escolhas erradas. - Ronaldo

Aïe!! That Brasilian free kick at the last minute was a pure witchcraft! Ronaldinho has never missed such a free-kick. Just look how the ball went! The ball was going directly to the goal nets, them at the last second, it changed the direction!

It's very very strange how R. Carlos who was guarding Henry, stayed behind and let Henry run wide open at the post. R. Carlos was literally on him before the whistle, and when the play started he just stayed still while Henry went in obviously to do exactly that.

I remember watching this game live and being sad that Brazil couldn't take the revenge of 98 WC final loss. Roberto Carlos played a horrible game and was a big reason why France was able to score off the set pieces. 😢

Pelo que eu entendi, perderam justamente pq nao tinham afinco, vontade, muitos jogadores chegaram fora de forma, não só o R9, e os treinos eram bagunça por causa da plateia. França por outro lado veio pra guerra nessa copa, tavam dando o sangue, e mereceram a vitória. Não adianta ter lendas em campo e jogar como se fosse jogo de fundo de quintal

2 very very strong team on that time,I remember how strong was Brasil and France and a lot's of people in those times was sad that Brasil will win the world cup but sudenly beceause they meet France they go out but if they was not meet France I think very easy that Brasil team was able to go in to final,I think the only team who was able to beat Brasil on that time it was just France.
