xebec studios went under but they got absorbed by sunrise. NO WAY are they gonna do fmp when gundam is in the same studio.

Support the current sequel and perhaps Kadokawa will approve a 5th season.

Don't avoid them, that's the specific order of events as well(fumoffu may seem like its filler intiially, but its actually important character development for the cast and is referenced back a lot) ...what most newcomers have to come to terms with most getting into this series is the mishandling of the first season which really showed....Gonzo was the original studio for the first season and most people dont see it as a well handled adaption of the source material for a lot of reasons(ill fitting fanservice shots, inferior music score, weird scene transitions, strange tonal shifts stuff like that). For Fumoffu and TSR, Kyoto Animation was the studio in charge after they got the rights to the series..which for years many have considered to be the pinnacle of the series..but the portrayal of the characters and slightly changes for the better from Gonzo's. For Full Metal Panic 4, Kyotoanimation did not come back and instead Xebec animation studio brought it back purely on the staff's fond memories from Kyoto animation's time with the franchise, thus they attempted to preserve as much as possible regarding the tone and design of Kyoto Animation while adding their own slight additions to the series as well, and based on the first season of invisible victory, they have done a good job in doing that. In short, FMP has gone through quite a long journey as an anime over the past 16 years, and you need to go through it all to see the gradual and increasing improvement in every aspect until now
