This rhythmic celebration of night is my first song written for harmonium and the third song from my night-themed album 'Nocturne'. The idea for ‘Full Moon Rise’ came from reading about light pollution and over-illumination.

Land acknowledgements are an honest and historically accurate way to recognize the traditional First Nations territories of a place and are a first step toward honoring the original occupants. The following statement recognizes and respects Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories:
This dance footage for this video was filmed on the traditional, ancestral territory of the the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (Cayese, Umatilla, Walla Walla), the Grand Ronde, and the Siletz Indians, as well as the Stl'pulmsh (Cowlitz), and the Clackamas tribes. The Clackamas tribe was decimated by plagues, and the remaining people relocated to the Grande Ronde reservation.
The singing and harmonium footage for this video was filmed on the traditional, ancestral territory of the Nipmuc (Narragansett), Pennacook/Pawtucket and Massa-adchu-es-et (Massachusett) First Nations. The Pennacook/Pawtucket were almost completely wiped out by smallpox and war with the colonizers. The survivors fled to Canada and joined with the Abnaki who continue to thrive today.
Their land was stolen from them by colonizers. All the tribes experienced genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced removal, but in spite of all this, they continue to thrive.
