Kian you have no idea how nice it is that you are so present and helpful. It should be standard but its actually pretty rare to see a dad that helps in the middle of the night. Its so important to support Ayla and let her rest.

I’m a newborn nanny of almost 7 years and would recommend keeping lights dim in the evening as lights can be over stimulating for newborns, and would also do calming activities like reading/listening to music/bath/etc, as opposed to the play-mat at night. I’d also recommend putting him in the carrier on fussy days! So many babies I’ve had love it, and are 100x less fussy when in the carrier. Look for one that keeps him super secure - bulky ones that don’t babies at this age usually don’t love. The fussiness at this age is normal! From the video he doesn’t give off colic vibes, but adding a probiotic to his bottles could also help the fussiness and is one of the only things proven to help colicky babies.

See this is where I had different experiences. As a nanny/preschool teacher, and mother myself I always thought “shhh the baby is sleeping” and tried to be calm with my daughter and the other littles I would take care of. But with my second, it was impossible to keep the house quiet. I would vacuum during the day, I would run around with my toddler and play music/tv in the background pretty much any time my son slept. Tons of different noises and lighting. He wound up sleeping through near anything as a newborn Vs my daughter, who would wake up to everything. I think it really just depends on the child. But I honestly would recommend not staying fully quiet when babies sleep. I feel like the more noise they’re used to, the better sleeper they’ll be. Imo.

I have an 8 week old velcro baby who was also borderline colicky! Get a baby carrier so you can be hands-free while he contact naps. Our carrier is my best friend! Even when he fusses, I’ll put him in that and he’ll calm down way quicker than he would when I was just holding him. My baby’s fussiness ended being silent reflux - pediatrician put him on hypoallergenic formula and pepsin to help his tummy! He’s a way happier baby now. still fusses occasionally, though, of course. You’re doing great, mama!

What a sweetie. A few tips- ask your pediatrician about the colic, but you can give Coast liquid baby probiotics to help with digestion. Plus you can try keeping him upright after feeding. If you guys go for a little drive in the evening it should put Coast to sleep- the motion knocks them out. Plus keep him in a full onesie- long arms and legs to keep him cosy. Babies can't regulate their body temperature so it better to put a little more clothing on.

Night time fuss is called the witching hour. it’s completely normal and very common in babies 💗 if he’s colicky, you will probably be able to tell bc he would seem uncomfortable and angrier than he would be fussing. You’re such beautiful parents! I love this blessing for you both 💗💗

To help with the contact sleeping. You can try to have him sleep or be swaddled in one if your dirty shirts (that has your scent on it) so that it tricks him to thinking he's with you. You can even put it in the dryer before so that it is warm and feels like body warmth. My aunt has triplets, and when they were little and struggling with the same thing, she did this, and it helped a lot with them!

When your baby is lying down before bed you can flex his knees up and that can help release gas. Putting hips legs apart on your knees too helps to release gas. I loved your outfit. You guys are precious for sharing your journey. Goodluck for everything. ❤

Hey! One thing that helped my partner and I with both our newborns was my partner wearing a shirt or something i was wearing that had my scent. The calmness it brought our babies was a lot.

I remember watching Kian on our Second life, and I remember watching Ayla on Logan Paul. Now seeing them both as parents makes my heart so happy. Your doing GREAT the both of you!!! Some days and nights you are going to cry with him and not even know why you are crying just like 80% of the time he doesn’t know why he is crying because everything is so new to him!! I promise you that one day you will look back and miss doing all of this I have 4 but 3 were in diapers all at once and I thought I am never ever going to make it through this and now I have one in college one in middle school and a 5th and 3rd grader like the ages are 18,12,10,9 and now I can honestly say I miss those times so so much even though I had to do it all by myself because I live 8 hours away from my family and my “husband” worked so it was all up to me lol but your doing absolutely wonderful ❤❤

I always had my 4moms swing on the highest setting because she liked it better than slow and soft lol also swaddling while in the swing works great too!

I had a super similar schedule/night routine with my newborn at Coasts age :) My daughter was the same exact way where she just wanted to sleep on me 24/7 and she would also cry a lot even after being fed/diaper changed. We used gas drops and that helped sometimes. Sometimes baby’s just cry 🤷🏻‍♀️ my Mom always told me ‘her butthole might itch but she can’t tell you that’s why she’s crying’ 🤣 You guys are doing amazing!!! My daughter is 10 months now and she has been sleeping through the night for the past 4 months after we did sleep training! Hang in there!! Good sleep is right around the corner 🥰

Our babies are born on the same exact day! He is also a super cuddly baby. My schedule was very similar to your guys but my husband is back at work so currently I’m on the night shift. One of the things I did to help my son sleep better at night so I can get better sleep was helping him eat a little more for feeds. I would give him half the bottle burp him and change his diaper so he doesn’t fall asleep then give him the rest. That seemed to help me get an extra hour of sleep inbetween feeds at night time. I know you probably don’t need my advice but if that is something you are willing to try it worked for my family and might help with the sleep deprivation.

I feel you Ayla! My son is 18m old now and I just started getting real me time. My son still breastfeeds but I get about 2 hours of me time during his 1 nap of the day

15:02 that is definitely mom life lol my mom will be like “take a nap, i’ll watch the baby” but it’s not that SIMPLE if i hear a slight fussing noise from my baby im immediately awake lol and the 0 sleep but still energized is me too!

Thank You for sharing these special moments! As a mama of a much older son I’ve truly enjoyed watching & reminiscing on everything a newborn entails. My son was colicky & rarely slept more than a couple hours at a time. So I TOTALLY relate to what you’re going through! It will get easier & less exhausting eventually. (However my son is now 22 & to this day has not slept through the night..But his doctors have said that contributes to his brilliant, determined & charismatic personality now! So it’s all worth it!) 🤍🙏🏻🥰

My husband and I were the same way! He would be dead asleep when our son would cry and I immediately got up as soon as I heard anything😩 I ended up sleeping in a separate room for the first 8ish weeks when it was his shift. I think it’s just wired in us to be ready🫶🏼

get him the anti colic avent phillips bottles , try to burp him every time after a feeding (even if he falls asleep) so he doesn't have too much gas built up in him ... and i would say manually make his bottles sometimes the machine puts in too much formula and not enough water or vice versa causing some tummy issues . if hes still fussy do some tummy massages or excercises ... bath if nothing works .. last option would be the anticolic drops or anticolic formula but talk to your pediatrician about it (:

Hiii omg I love your newborn baby vids! My little one had so many problems with her tummmy I’d also wake her up to eat and that’s the worst thing I did because I trained her to wake up every two hours even when not hungry and also gripe water and frida baby gas relief helped sooooo much the windys helped and gripe water ! I hope you see this because my little one made me feel like something was always wrong until I followed my gut and knew she had tummy issues

He is not colic girl. He's a baby that cries. Haha There's a KZfaqr that has a baby with colic and trust me, her baby legitimately never stops crying. Coast is crying to communicate to you his needs. At his age he needs to be with mama all the time.

There is something called the witching hour and it starts in the evening and that’s when babies are normally very cranky. If you give him gripe water it helps soo much! So this doesn’t necessarily mean you have a colic baby this just happens beteeen the hours of 5-11. It’s a rough point but it only lasts a few months and it’s all done!

I know this was a month ago but sometimes babies get fussier at night because they have gas! There’s massages you can do also and I had to give my baby gas drops and baths he didn’t like the massages but I know a lot of people have luck with that also putting a blanket in the dryer and then putting it on their belly. You may have figured these things out already but if not hope it helps! Also, it’s really common for boys to have colic! My son had it SO bad. It was really hard but right at 3 months he finally was getting better

girl, been there!! i have a few tricks that really helped us with gas. 1. frida windi, you need it instantly. 2. warmies- it’s a stuffed animal you warm in the microwave, and then you can put it on his tummy for some relief. 3. beauty counter baby oil, use this for some tummy massages before bed. 🙌🏻

What my cousins do is the dad is in charge of the baby from 9pm-2am and then the mom gets up and is in charge from 2am-7am. At this point they are both usually up but I’d mom needs more sleep dad takes over again. During the times that they are in charge they take baby to the living room, if he wakes up, where there is only one dim light on till he falls asleep again.

This reminds me of my son in there first 6 weeks there tummy hurts witch is normal there is this amazing thing I used it on my son infacole it’s really good haha his 7 months now and we still don’t sleep through the night

GET THE FRIDDA BABY WINDIS!!!! my son had a lot of gas issues and they helped with relieving that gas EVERY TIME. And it made him a much happier baby ☺️
