It's just hard to get reliable help nowadays.When people don't want to help you when you don't know too much about building a engine and you starting from scratch and that's me
@whiplashtv20223 ай бұрын
I understand that. I try to help and teach a lot as much as I can and put out informative videos. The whole build on this motor is here on the channel as well as videos on a bunch of the modifications. Here is the video when I started the engine build from a short block. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aruampaAtqvDgX0.htmlsi=psUc4-jPNPZikG14

Some of your V build threads have been helpful for me, thanks for that, sorry to see you part with it but I get it. Curious if you have run this combo at the track and if so, what has been your best ET/MPH/60'?
@whiplashtv20224 ай бұрын
I am happy to hear that they have been helpful for you. I have not had time to go run it at the track yet. I only got 2 passes SBE on good drag radials and went a best of 10.3 @ 136mph. The 60’ on that pass didn’t show up, but I think it was around 1.6. I was still working on the launch.
@blairalderton22384 ай бұрын
@@whiplashtv2022 It takes a ton of track tuning time to get these things dialled in close to their full potential. I LOVE flogging mine at the track as often as I can, because it will get you in serious trouble if you're careless on the street, and it sounds like you know all about that with yours. Good luck with the sale!

More information on the garage door opener for the cut outs, that’s a great idea
@whiplashtv20227 ай бұрын
They are wireless QTP low profile cutouts that have been programmed to the garage door opener of the car. You just program them to it.

Bro, why would you sell that?! I've watched and followed this car. If it was my V, and I put that much work in it, I would only part ways with it if I ended up in the ground!
@whiplashtv20227 ай бұрын
I hear ya. I had a couple people interested in it at $50k+. I have had an insanely busy year plus. Working 3 jobs, having a wife and 3 kids, we got hit by a storm that took down 20 trees at the start of summer, and the local drag strip closed down. I just haven’t had time to go really enjoy it outside of driving it to work and some car shows. So for that money I was going to let it go and move onto another build.
@jamessowder1937 ай бұрын
@@whiplashtv2022 You probably have a modest 20 in it I imagine 🤔
@whiplashtv20227 ай бұрын
@jamessowder193 in mods I have less than that because I do all of my own labor and sell old parts that are good/useable and reinvest that money into what I am purchasing.
@jamessowder1937 ай бұрын
@@whiplashtv2022 Oh okay, I didn't think about that. Duh 🙄. You do all of your own work, I've watched lol. I've had a few watching the Bengals game don't mind me 😂. Doing your own work will definitely save you a ton of money.

No problem man. Yes, doing your own work saves a ton of money! Also saves a bit of headache from dealing with shops.

I would make a few cruising or driving videos. A question some might ask is what is the personal best it's ran in the 1/8th or 1/4th.

I did make a driving review video. Here is the link. Before the build, I ran a 10.3 @ 136mph but only got 2 passes before the low oil pressure/main bearing issue. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZqgibSpuJjGnYk.htmlsi=yujA8JgJ9PxeGpVr

Tell me why you modded the battery cable? Do you have a part # or source for that? My V is lazy on startup… with my higher compression 388.

Hey I'm in a process of building me a engine for my CTS v.My question to you is, how do you like that blanket?Do you feel that it's effective?And that spacer also with the flywell and the triple disk.Are you getting any noise when you're at low rpm?Would you do your build all over again?Or would you change anything any suggestions?Or recommendations you would have for me
@whiplashtv20223 ай бұрын
I love everything about the car. There is a little vibration when sitting at idle in gear with your foot on the brake due to the polyurethane motor mounts. At first, I wondered if the 4600 to 4800 RPM stall speed of the converter was going to be too much, but I am super happy with it and glad that I took Rick Crawford‘s advice. You can see me talk about the spacers and thermal blanket along with several other things in this review video after the build. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZqgibSpuJjGnYk.htmlsi=90n3XDifnnd-Zktp

Dude. Been following you for a while. Sad to see her go! What’s the asking price? I’m tempted to sell mine and add cash to match the price. If I can’t afford it, I have a few questions lol. 1. How did you route the wild can? I see you’re still using the stock PCV line. 2. Who ported the blower and snout? 3. What’s the mileage been like running that stall and on E85? Always loved your car. Immaculate
@whiplashtv20227 ай бұрын
I will keep it if I don’t get $50k. That is my bottom dollar. The catch can goes from the valley cover port to the catch can, and then from the catch can to the lower port on the passenger side blower snout. The blower and snout was ported already when I purchased it. However, the blower part after the brick was not ported and port matched so I didn’t that and posted 3 videos here on the channel of that process. The stall is not bad at all for gas mileage, but the big injectors, big motor, and E85 are lol. It gets about 12-13mpg on the hwy with E85.
