Can someone tell me how can CPIB be independent when they report to LHL? What does the word "INDEPENDENT" means?

I’m curious to know if the PM did inform TCJ wife back in Nov 2020. If I was the wife, I will feel bad not only did my husband cheat on me, even my country PM did not tell me the truth when he knew of this. I’m just baffled that PM allowed TCJ and his mistress whom both have questionable behaviour despite their high salary to work in office. If u cannot be honest to even ur family, how can u be honest to ur country. Omg.

PM said he needed to ensure that the constituents in Marine Parade GRC would be taken care of, thus the delay in letting TCJ go. How about Iswaran's constituents in West Coast ? Why Iswaran's minister and constituency duties could be relinquished immediately and taken over by someone else and not TCJ's ??!! The PM has to come up with better excuses !

I watched some live. Admire Prita Singh. Undeterred, assertive n composed n even followed up for answers when the pm used red herring to siam his questions so many times. Sham, vivian, etc all bounced him but he remained steadfast. I pray that we singapore will have more wp, tcb, sdp, rp, etc oppo mps like him to check n balance our parliament.

The politics is of utmost immaturity in badly handling the incident causing embarrassment to the victims to the whole world which is unjust and unwarranted. A skilled public relation procedure would save face fir both the victims and government an more do fir the PM without needing to openly publicly defend himself. The incidents have channels of resolution without fear of public interest and public discussion. PM is too thin skin. How can a PM make claims of continuity of his and LKY principle of government on future government assuming PAP will infinitely be government of the day. The saga is deliberately stirred up as a storm in a tea cup.

As we have seen, to be a Prime Minister is not a walk in the park. Not only have you to ensure that the country develops and prospers, but the people's welfare and well-being as well. Additionally, the people who work under him as well as members of the political party that makes the government. Singapore has done very well in many of these aspects Many governments and countries would be envious indeed . To a prime ministers who is handing over the government to its successor to face such bombshells is indeed painful. This is on top of the personal problems he faces with his family. The right thing now of course is to stay on and clear up the problems before handling over the government in good shape. it would also be a valuable exemplary lesson to showcase to the younger leaders how the government or party solve its problems. Surely PM Lee and his very experienced senior ministers would be able to overcome these setbacks and put Singapore in order before they leave the scene. It would be a pity if the people see it as a failure of a government and its leaders and throw caution to the wind.
