Ford spoke to reporters and answered questions on the AG's Greenbelt report.
Premier Doug Ford responded to the report this afternoon, and while he admitted that the process of unlocking Greenbelt land was flawed, he repeated his claim that it's the only way to meet the province's housing demand.

You don't need to move into the greenbelt to find enough land space to build. There is plenty of vacant property within current city (not just Toronto) limits all over Ontario. There is no reason to build 3000 and 4000 square foot homes. I'm sick of seeing these monstrosities in the green spaces across this country. This is about the wealthy, it is not about affordable housing. Average housing needs to be in locations where working people can easily get to work, not have to drive. How does destroying green space and increasing traffic from these locations improve climate change?

@kevinmccallister69, perhaps you should read up on the purpose for the revenue neutral carbon tax and how it actually works before you embarrass yourself. I would suggest you start with the Paris accord that restricts access to international markets for countries that do not adhere to the commitments set out in the agreements. Carbon taxes raised in Canada are returned to the provinces. In conservative Alberta the tax money is distributed directly back to the citizen. Canada is signatory to the Paris accord. We are a trading nation that depends heavily on exports but, most importantly, we are not immune from the increasing effects of the man made global crisis that is killing our planet. Just because you don't understand it does not mean it does'nt make sense. It's a tired talking point that's been debunked. Move on. The discussion is a corrupt process the PC premier tried to get away with.
