It is just old legs in key players, and they need to be rotated with experienced but younger players. It is that simple. We seem to have two loud polar opposites on this topic: (1) Klopp always burns players out; this drop was inevitable because of his style, and (2) these players are just as good as ever, they are just choosing to be lazy. The truth is neither. It is not about individuals being bad. But as a whole the midfield roster is not as energetic and physical as the squad that won the CL and PL trophies. That is not hard to fix, but letting players age out and run out contracts, and then hoping some academy kids deliver fantastic performances is not much of a plan.

Objectively speaking, that should rate a big success. It is completely normal for a squad to need a major overhaul every 5 years or so. Nuñez like Fabinho did, looks like he would need a bit of time, just like Suarez. Nuñez has as many goal contributions as Suarez did in his first season at the club, so it takes time. LFC just really need midfielders and like Heno or Wijnaldum, they don't need the best of the best.
