Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination

23 күн бұрын

The Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination has partnered with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to award grants to seven civil society organizations in Africa to drive increased hepatitis B birth dose awareness and accessibility and prevent mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B. The project focuses on promoting timely hepatitis B birth dose vaccination, ideally within 24 hours of delivery, through community sensitization and advocating for policy change.
This webinar will highlight CSO birth dose project activities and the status of birth dose policies in Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan, Malawi, Burkina Faso, and Kenya. The 2024 recipients organizations are:
1. Grassroot Development Support and Rural Enlightenment Initiative (GDEV), Nigeria: GDEV, Nigeria is a registered multi-disciplinary non-profit, non-governmental organization, established in 2004 to promote social justice in Nigeria, and including a focus on health care as a means to empowerment.
2. Roadmap for Women and Youth Development, Nigeria: RAWYOD works for equal opportunities and rights, access to education, health, and dignified work in Yobe State, Nigeria.
3. Caritas, Rwanda: Caritas Rwanda supports the most vulnerable people to satisfy their basic needs: access to shelter, access to education, clothing, health services, food and nonfood items etc.
4. Empower Youth Africa (EYA), South Sudan: EYA is a South Sudan youth-led organization formed in 2017 focused on empowering youth to play an active role in healthcare and community development.
5. Health and Rights Education Programme (HREP), Malawi: HREP was formed in 2006 with specialized expertise in advocacy, policy, and research, with an emphasis on the health sector.
6. Organisation Yinéyinédian pour la Nature et le Développement Durable (OND), Burkina Faso: OND seeks a dynamic population, active, responsible, united, and committed to a more balanced, just, and sustainable world.
7. Humanity for Orphans, Youth and Widows Initiatives (HOYWIK), Kenya: HOYWIK was founded twelve years’ ago to help widows, orphans, and youth overcome the challenges that they face in day-to-day living.
