Indeed great video, but some subtitles would have been nice to explain what is being done. I work in the metal industry, so for me it is obvious, but many more would benefit from seeing these. Also, this video could be shortened to 4 minutes as there is a lot of the same, like showing the palleting robot over and over.

@sydneyshinshi

I don't think there would be much dust at all Saravana. There is no milling, grinding or anything really to produce dust. Hence no dust masks.
@andrewevanoff1192
@andrewevanoff1192 5 жыл бұрын
The drives are designed to be installed in dusty/dirty environments, if installed without an enclosure. All automation PLCs, electronics and wiring are also protected as per electrical codes. Some sensors will require periodic cleaning but it's no big deal. Modern automation is very reliable and, in most cases, easier to troubleshoot than old relay logic. A plant like this requires less maintenance personnel than an old plant. Obviously they need an engineer level person to maintain, troubleshoot and modify the process control equipment.

Recycling aluminium is very profitable. Aluminium from raw ore is very expensive and takes a lot of energy to refine and produce pure Aluminium. It only takes 5% of the energy to recycle vs from ore - "The price of virtue". The Economist. 7 June 2007.
@foxsoul7899
@foxsoul7899 5 жыл бұрын
Like UltraNoob said it is much more cost efficient to recycle and you dont need those extremely enviroment harming chemicals you need for the raw ore refinery. There are some documentaries here on youtube, where you can see the huge mess they have with the seperation of the aluminium minearls from the bauxit ore. And you can also see what happens if they do it wrong.

They have kept the smelting separate from the pouring, including that big intermediate molten tank. A wall in between, and just a continuous flow of molten metal going through, almost no slag except new oxide. Dirty side, clean side. Many industries and businesses could learn from this. And house designers too. Keep the place you sh*t separate from the place you get clean. (and a hand basin with the toilet). Same for food safety - clean and prep one side, ready to eat on the other - no mixing, one-way traffic.
