Two of the most essential techniques for all aspiring guitarists to master are string bending and vibrato.
The electric guitar affords us the opportunity to express musical statements that can evoke and rival the sound and qualities of the human voice, with string-bending and vibrato techniques as the primary elements necessary to achieve vocal-like sounds and phrasing.
In this column, I’d like to detail a few of the string-bending and vibrato techniques I use and the applications that appeal to me the most.
You can bend a string in many ways, and I like to employ just about every method imaginable. Drawing from a variety of string-bending techniques provides me with more options for how to interpret whatever I’m playing.

@dimefabdarrell3115
@dimefabdarrell3115 10 жыл бұрын
For me the first exemple is good, i like the simplicity of it, because sometimes, in my opinion, less is better. And figure 2 is great for me if you look for a sort of aggressivity. Sure it depend also of what you look for melody. It is just for say that there is billion way to play something (particularly for him), but there is also infinite way to play something bad (particularly for commun guitar player).

I used to practice to Friedman's instructional vidoes in the '90s. I used to be able to hit those wild bends, uitinl I nearly lost my left index finger in an accident (Severed the tendons and nerves just below the joint at the tip; my finger was "haging on."). Now, I have to use an extra finger to get enough strength to do it, which affects my playing. Factory work sucks for musicians.
