Great video as usual. Love the Depstech Triple Lens Borescope that made the repair so much easier.

Wish I had seen this video a year ago. I had done a fairly sizable overhaul on my son's car - valve cover, injectors, coil packs, water pump, oil pan gasket, motor mounts, oil filter housing gasket, vanos solenoids, plastic boost pipes etc.. as repairs and preventative maintenance. I ran out of time and could not figure out how to remove the oil pressure solenoid easily so decided to leave it. If I had seen this, it would have been simple. Front main seal seemed OK but if I had known it was so easy to do, I would have just done preventative maintenance on it. At some point, I will need to replace that valve and main seal, was the crank pulley difficult to remove? That was the only part not covered. ... Great video thanks!

Hello, Great to hear you found the info helpful. The vibration damper is just bolted on. It is very easy to remove.

Top tip is to always turn nuts and bolts backwards to find the thread start before threading it clockwise.

Hi Mohammad, BMW does not have a specific time frame for a lot of fluid replacements. Once I get caught up with some other repairs I plan on doing some videos on rear diff service, Transfer case service, transmission service, power steering service, and coolant service. It is starting to get a bit colder where I live so I think I need to invest in a heated jacket LOL to keep going into the winter.

Fantastic video , now for a question , how accurate is the oil level sensor ? i have 6.5 liters in the motor its showing max i add .5 litters every 1k miles '' N55 burns oil '' it never moves below or above the max
@thomasstiglich348411 ай бұрын
Are you sure that you are burning oil? I would not add oil unless it is telling you that it is low. Also, I am not aware of the display being able to show oil above max. If this is the case, it is likely that you have an excessive amount of oil in the engine. This would explain the level never moving above or below the max.

It usually is accurate until it isn't LOL If it keeps saying add .5 stop after 1 L and drain and measure. But if it does register it is working correctly

normal oil consumption , i drained the oil after 1500 miles and measured using original 1 litter containers it was down .5 from 6.5 . Idrive was showing max , never moved , so figure .5 per 1k miles is normal No oil leaks on the motor 65k miles @@thomasstiglich3484
