There are many Shias in Saudi Arabia and are Arabs and some from the seed of Mohammad so it is possible that Imam Mahdi can in fact be a Shia however on the other hand when he does finally come onto the scene he could very well do away with both these sects and just call himself just a Muslim no less, which would be the right thing to do. As a muslim which refers to its own sect of Islam is in my opinion a Kahfer.
